Our Finest Hour (The Time #1) by Jennifer Millikin

This story grabs and holds you. How can one hour with a man who you don't even know his last name can give you the love of your life? This story defines how one decision can transform your life. Nothing is easy and the story doesn't let you down, but it is a reminder that through all the pain that it is through love and forgiveness that will bring you peace and happiness.

My One and Only: A Holiday Novella - Book One in the Harper's Corner Series (Harper's Corner #1) by Christina George

I got caught up in this story. One, because I couldn't understand how she could hurt Matt. I understand she thought there was something wrong with her when her fiance dumped her at the alter. How could she think that when Matt has loved her from the beginning? The best marriages start with friendship and grow into an everlasting love. This story is well written.

Throw a Monkey Wrench (Emma Cassidy Mystery #1) by Karen Chester

This story is witty and delightful. The author kept it fast paced and the mystery is kept to the end with just one or two small hints that are only noticeable to the mystery reader. Emma is lovable and I hope Deputy Sheriff Owen will soon see that fact also. This is a series I would love to continue reading.

Lost with a Lord (Ravishing Regencies, #1) by Emily Murdoch

I love this cover. It is very striking. The story was well written to a point, but the ending did not finish with acceptability of society. The only good point is the fourth son doesn't have all the social rules applied to him for marriage that is required for the first born. Florence is a spitfire and knows what she wants, that she wants George to want her to stay. She expects George to act like an Italian and George expects her to understand his English ways. Why do people forget that love is a two way communication? This story is great for an afternoon read.

With A Kiss: A Sweet Romance Anthology by Traci Hunter Abramson (Goodreads Author), Rachel Branton (Goodreads Author) , Rachelle J. Christensen (Goodreads Author) , Joyce DiPastena (Goodreads Author) , Danyelle Ferguson (Goodreads Author) , Donna Hatch (Goodreads Author) , Heather B. Moore (Goodreads Author) , Luisa Perkins , Janette Rallison (Goodreads Author), Heather Tullis

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The only book I am going to review is "Just This Moment". It is about a blind woman preparing to enter the nunnery. First, her daughter wants a book written about her mother's life. They summon a monk to do the work. This story is very intriguing and we are as blind as Alys as she has stirrings for the monk who is writing her story. What we learn as the story takes shape will make you hate the way society viewed the blind, and how she was taken advantage of by those who should have been protecting her. This story is well written and left me wondering til the climax.

Orylis (Warriors Of Cadir) by Stella Sky

Really, this is not romance novels, "smut", "erotica" are the words. The writing is atrocious. I get the torn between two lovers theme, but did she even have a clue what kind of problems she was causing on this planet. The only one who had any decency was her first lover, Theren. The sex scenes were even atrocious. This one is a big no.

MultiDate by Kirsty McManus

This book is so boring until the last 32% of the book. It is actually where things start to happen. Lauren is a people person, or what I network as a"a social butterfly". She is the one person who makes friends easily and everyone eventually likes her. She is also typically the one to have a hard time actually establishing a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. We see this in the last 33% of the book and despite all that typically goes wrong in her life. She basically land on her feet. I wished the author started her on a relationship earlier than two-thirds of the way. I kept wondering how this was classified a romance.

Murder Feels Bad (Empath Detective #2) by Bill Alive

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another farce of a detective story with Petey and Mark, this time it starts with a suicide of a young woman in the church bell tower during a wedding. The shenanigans Pete and Mark get up to are hilarious and nothing ever seems to go right. Although Pete does seem to learn some adult lessons, but I'm waiting for book three to see if he actually learned anything. The one final thing I have to say is the author has something against all religions. You'll see it in the writing of both books.

Reluctantly Charmed: Clean & Wholesome Historical Romance: Doctor Holloway's Story (Bareglen Creek Romance) by Kate Cambridge

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I liked Magdalena, but the more forceful Lance got the more submissive Magdalena became. As far as I know, if Magdalena was a true suffragist, she would have torn Lance Holloway's ego apart. I found her more of a spoiled brat, trying to get away with anything her father would let her, until her father said, "Enough!" Lance is a coward not to ask her about her ultimatum from her father and leaves her standing high and dry. It is only after he almost loses her, that he remembers that he is in love with her. Dr. Holloway get over yourself if you want to live a happy life!

The Reluctant Viscount (Lords of London Book 2) by Emma Evans

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
These two characters are very lovable. Simon took me a little longer, because he had to find courage to do the right thing. Clara never expected anything from her brother, but to be forced to marry someone she despised was unimaginable. When Simon reluctantly offered her a way out, she accepts. She's already falling for Simon, so why not? I loved Simon's final solution to Clara's brother, and when Simon finally discerns his feelings for Clara.

Faking Lucky by Q.D. Purdu

This book is very funny, but very sad and embarrassing. It identifies a problem in our society when we air our dirty laundry to the public. The embarrassment that TV trash shows cause to people outside of the show and the effects it can have on those persons. This is how defective our society is and the stupidity under which it operates. The only good thing is that Desdemona decided to take action.

Their Sweetheart City Love (Colorado City Series Book 2) by Emilee Harris

I like stories of older couples falling in love, but this is about a couple already in love. Twenty-six years ago, their lives took different directions, and they meet again when her adopted son and his daughter meet and fall in love. There are secrets Lucy kept from Rick, because of the royal life he was living and she was just a woman running a boarding house in Denver. The fire when these two come together is always there, even when Lucy is already engaged to Archie Stanton. The interaction between these two is passionate, and even when they are angry with each other, they are caring about how the other is perceived.

Murder Feels Awful (Empath Detective #1) by Bill Alive

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book is hilarious. Pete is an immature riot, and is into all the "New Age" shams. Mark is an oversensitive em-path, and since most men don't know how to deal with their own feelings let alone other people, he's become a hermit. Pete and Mark meet when Mark experiences a woman in a hang glider having an epileptic attack and dies crashing the plane. These two are bumbling idiots when it comes to detective work and Pete's issues make this a great detective farce.

Loved by the Viscount (Happily Ever After #5) by Ellie St. Clair

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I liked this story very much. The only disturbing aspect of this story is William's family. When William is tired of his brother bleeding him dry, he tells his brother to find another profession, so he takes up life as a highwayman. What is most disturbing is who else is behind these robberies. Rosalind is quiet, but has an inner strength that seems to appear when she has had enough. William has stress migraines that are debilitating and his family only adds to his pain. William scares Rosalind because he appears to be another man and she doesn't want to live that kind of life again. This story has a few twists and turns, some aren't necessary to the story, but gives the story more life.

P.S. I Love You (A Twickenham Time Travel Romance) by Jo Noelle

This is a lovely time romance story. I immediately fell in love with Simon and Cora. This story addresses the issue of disabled children in Regency times, and touches upon what normally happens to them. Aunt Nellie is hysterical and so is the "time is a fuzzball" theory. I laughed and felt for Cora for her decision to return to her own time or live in Simon's world.

Love is Kind: Mail Order Bride by Ruby Hill

This a very well written mail-order bride story. Alice travels to the west to find her mail-order husband is unloving, uses her for his own purposes and doesn't allow her to go to town without him. When her husband dies, she is accepted in town and they do everything to help the young pregnant widow. Alice learns that love is kind. This is a story of forgiveness and you will not be let down.

Sexy Summer: A Steamy Bad Boy Romance by N.L. Blake

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed this story. I loved Noma and what she did to Kit's mind. It made him want her and really get to know who Noma is as a person. This story is well written and let's you know there is more to the surfer we see on the ocean and hear about in the tabloids. The problem I had with Kit is that Kit is a charmer. I can't stand a man with all the practiced smiles and all the right words. There is something very false that sits with me. That's why I loved Noma, because she made the charmer work hard to know her before anything intimate could happen.

Axon's Lust (Cosmic Warriors Book 2) by Ruby Winter

This story is better than the last one. The alien actually develops a relationship with Jennifer, but accidentally abducts her when he takes her in his ship to protect her, but his commander retreats from the battle and heads for home. Axon is likeable and Jennifer is weird. She's the only female working as a data analyst. She has one friend and her ex-boyfriend was only good for sex. I'd never want to return to earth either, if was offered the choice.

Evex (Warriors Of Ition) by Maia Starr

This story is horrible. Their is nothing redeeming about the alien and the woman throws her husband's memory away, while she allows an alien to have sex with her. The last question in the review, "How can he get the woman that carries his alien child to love him, once she finds out his dark secret?", never is answered because she never learns that he killed her husband by blowing him up once he entered earth's atmosphere.

Second Chances: A Billionaire Bad Boy Romance by Ellie Danes

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a story of redemption for a man caught up in the bad choices he made. It's a chance of freedom for a woman who father dictates her life, because of her sister's mistakes. It is well written and the ending is a little unexpected, but the surprises along the way make this story well worth reading.

Out of the Dusk (A Military Romance)( Never Lose Sight #3) by Leigh Robbins

This book is the sequel to the second book in the story of Brett Parker and Lauren cage. It deals with PTSD very well, but leaves the reader out in the cold for a long time. Brett goes into civilian life with hope in his heart, but realizes he is unfit to start again with Lauren. The ups and downs of this story tears at your heart and you wonder why Lauren keeps going back only to get her heart broken again. Those with PTSD do not realize how selfish they are, because do not allow those of us who love them to hold them. I know because it quiets their soul when the nightmares come just to hold them in love. Just like in book two, I found Brett Parker a very selfish man whom does everything to please himself at the time. He only did big romantic things to bind Lauren to him.

Engaging Love: A Historical Regency Romance Novel by Abby Ayles

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is part of a series of the Hartfield sisters. I've read 3 of the 4 sisters stories. This book seems to lace all the stories together and continues with Natalie's story. I never liked Natalie in the other books, but the author does justice to her character by making her grow up. Realizing there is more to life than fashion and balls, Natalie traverses a marriage of convience to find herself falling in love with her husband. Her husband chastises himself for being so hard on her in the beginning of their marriage. Natalie sees that she cannot continue on the way she has been and make this marriage work. I love this story of change and a truth that no one today seems to realize. Love is not an emotion. It is a choice to act in doing loving things for one another. Our emotions will follow in those simple acts of kindness and thoughtfulness, and the recipients heart will follow if these acts are done out of selflessness.

An Earl's Wager: Regency Romance (Gentlemen and Brides) by Joyce Alec

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is kind of comedic. The situation with a drunk Lord and a woman's honest feelings. What transpires between Ellen and Lord Hartley is not funny. Lord Hartley is not the rake the author makes him out to have been. He clearly has a conscience and does everything in his power to make Ellen want this unwanted marriage. I fell in love with Lord Hartley trying to make everything right again.

A Pure Lady for the Broken Duke: A Historical Regency Romance Novel by Hanna Hamilton

This story is well written and the characters are deeply defined. It is easy to fall in love with the Duke and Jenny. The problem with the story is that it is a fairy tale, and no such thing would ever happen. We all dream of our Prince riding in on a white horse, but the truth is we fall in love and work for our relationships. The Duke works to repair his estate finances and Jenny dreams of working in estate kitchen as a pastry chef. By marrying Jenny, he subjugates his life to ridicule and would eventually hurt the business he is establishing.  But the author defies all rules of Regency England and we get our happily ever after. I love the characters and the story, but it goes against all the set rules for the aristocracy in Regency, England, maybe in a different time period.

Wargasm (Payne Brothers #3) by Sosie Frost

Warning: This is an very erotic story. Unlike most erotic stories, the story doesn't focus on the sex. It involves the characters feelings, dreams and what they really want. It involves hurt, love, disappoint and mostly life. The writing circles around Butterpond, USA where insanity reigns, including our main characters. This is my third trip back to Butterpond and I haven't enjoyed my self more.

In Her Sights (Away From Keyboard #2) by Patricia D. Eddy

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
I had a hard time with this one. Although, I kind of liked Inara, I think even less of Cooper. While I hate everything that he is dealing with, I hate what a coward he is.  He gets better as the book goes on, but what I don't understand is why Cam didn't hack into his "Loc8tion" app. She had all the software and access to it. She knew he was testing it out and he probably had it on him or could have found his last location. This is just plain stupidity on the author's part. What I did like was that Cooper has learn to face his fears and start taking part in life again.

Breaking His Code (Away From Keyboard #1) by Patricia D. Eddy

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story broke my heart. I feel for our wounded warriors and I know how hard transitioning to civilian life can be for them. West gets Cam to finally meet hem after six weeks of Halo online. They talk online and they understand what each one of them goes through. He is not put off by her physical disabilities and she understands his mental issues. What I most love about this story is the suspense and intrigue that is written into both of their lives.

The Reluctant Marquess: The Duke's Daughters - Prequel by Rose Pearson

This is the story of the Duke himself. I always felt that the Duke in his old age was rather a weak man, and this book proves he was always that way. The only time he stands up as a man is when he with Marjory. I liked all the books in this series and they are well written, unfortunately, I liked Hugh's personality, but I can not respect him. Also, Marjory is very submissive and timid woman. I didn't get a good feel for her personality and feelings. It was always yes and thank you.

An American Cinderella by Krista Lakes

This story took Cinderella to a different level. In this story, I actually liked the Prince, because he actually had a real personality. Aria, although she is bright and intelligent, she still has that defeatist attitude I can't stand. Henry is truly my go to guy in this story and what he does to the wicked stepmother is even better.
