Hearts and Cowboys: Mail Order Bride Romance Collection by Eleanor Swan

These are stories I have already read, but if you have read one of them you have read all of them. Some have some weird twists and turns, but essentially girl needs a husband, answers or puts in an advertisement for a husband and goes west. It's what happens when she gets there and who she actually falls in love with. They are well-written and each story took me less than an hour to read.

A Rake Never Changes His Spots (The Inheritance Clause #2) by Samantha Holt

Every once in a while, I decide to comment on the cover. Does this man look like a rake? He doesn't even look old enough to drink. Now that is out of my system, this series has been excellent and book two is no different. I love Prudence Hartley, but Gil thinks he can outsmart the system. It's funny, love has a way of creeping up even on the most resistant of rakes.

Shifter Eruption: A Paranormal Romance Box Set by Mia Taylor, Lisa Daniels

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
This is a collection of shifter stories by Lisa Daniels and Mia Taylor. They are first book series, buth the later ones are second and third books. All the stories are okay, but nothing spectacular; good for filling time.

The Salvation of the Deceived Lady by Hanna Hamilton

This story is full of twists and turns, and just when you the think the story is going one way; it suddenly goes another. Our heroine is so naive and does something that will soil her name; believing the man she loves wants to meet with her. Who is this evil man and why is he doing this? The climax is exciting, but I knew who it was from the reaction of the Marquess when her son came home from Scotland.

To Redeem A Bear (Lumberjack Bears Book 5) by Emilia Hartley

I've read every book in this series and I believe that Owen is the most intelligent of all the bears. His is also the most volatile because he wasn't born a bear, but was changed. I've like Owen althrough this series, and how he plays his mate with his intelligent is fun and amusing. This is actually the best story of the series.

The Viscount's Victress (Scandalous Nobility Book 1) by Madeline St.James

This is a dangerous game that Marla played, but one that as a common woman could run away from if things went badly. It's a woman taking a chance for a better life. It's a story of love, risk and chance and isn't that what we live for each day of our lives.

Seduced by an Irresistible Lady: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Henrietta Harding

This story is a little scandalous for a clean Regency. The baron's daughter falling in love with a common doctor. Doctor's during Regency times used to be considered as common tradesman, not like today as a prestigious occupation. What is an intelligent woman to do when torn between what is needed and what she wants?  I'm undecided as to the validity of the story and it's outcome.

Love and Christmas Wishes: Three Regency Romance Novellas by Rose Pearson

These three novellas are wonderful tales of magical Christmas romances. The stories revolve around two sisters and their companion, each finding their own happily ever after.

A Charming Lady for the Intriguing Baronet: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Bridget Barton

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
As far as I'm concerned Selina is blind beyond belief, especially when love is staring her in the eyes. Considering all, Selina is naive, selfish and more concerned about preconceived ideas than thinking about the real problems. Alex did not deserve the pain that she put him through and if I was Alex, I would have moved on even if I couldn't have found another woman I wanted to marry. Selina needed to see the real truth and pain she was causing with her behavior. Our hero, Alex is more than patient and kind. I loved this man, but our heroine is something else.

Dilemma of the Earl's Heart (House of Catesby #6) by Sunny Brooks

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the final Catesby to marry. It is our beloved Earl, Francis. What we don't know is that the housekeeper is what is keeping Francis for looking for a wife for himself. What he doesn't know is that his housekeeper is a lady in hiding. Can I be honest? Francis isn't much of a hero. He allows Rebecca to due most of the fighting before he can even get into the fray. The problem is that Francis is as feminine as his name, and it's her brother that becomes the real hero. It's delightful how he tries, but really is inept to handle this kind of situation. As far as I can tell, he's not really ready to be an earl.

Royal Dragons Box Set: A Weredragon Romance by Anastasia Chase

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
I've read each of these stories, and reviews of each can be found on my blog, Amazon & Goodreads. I've rated each book and found The Dragon's Redemption to be the best of the lot and The Dragon's Healer the worst. All these stories can be read separately and don't need to be read in order.

The Secret Passion of an Enticing Earl: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Henrietta Harding

This story is disturbing in many ways, especially Arthur's sister. Arthur's father had to know something was wrong when Arthur refused to come home, and Rebecca had a short term baby with an elderly man whom she married three months after Arthur left. The mother is most complicate, because she could have stopped the wedding and brought Arthur home with the right words. I'm just glad the baby was a girl, because imagine the ramifications of what Arthur's sister had done to Arthur's first child. He wouldn't have been able to claim the Earldom because he was born in marriage to another man. The passion between these two could not be denied and even the evil that his sister perpetrated on them could not keep them apart even after six years. The story is good, but the writing seems to stutter at important moments. Overall the story is entertaining and makes you think that they should have sent his sister to a sanitarium instead of what they did.

Blind Date with a Blue-Collar Billionaire (Blind Date Disasters Book 1) by Evangeline Kelly

This is a fun contemporary romance with a blind date disaster added to the mix. In the case of Lindsey and Grayson that disaster was huge and I don't know if I would have recovered enough from the porta-pottie incident to ever date Grayson again. Fortunately, God has a plan even when things go wrong. This story is light-hearted, funny and leaves you feeling that there is something good and right in the world.

Beauty in Flight by Robin Patchen

This is definitely a series book, because this story goes no where fast and the climax is the end of the book. The concept is good and engages you, but the real action doesn't happen til the end of  the story and leaves wondering. I'm not really into these types of stories, because I think the author just wants you to buy 3 books instead of just one and there is no real end to the story, if I can't get the next 2 books. The story has merit but could go a lot further without all the back story of the first book.

A Mysterious Lady for the Resolute Sheriff: A Historical Western Romance Book by Carol Colyer

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm not sure about the title. I wouldn't have bought it on the title alone. This is a wonderful story up until he finds out that she is a wanted outlaw. Cole, the bounty hunter, wasn't as ruthless as the author tried to make him out, because he was willing to give up Eliza for Jacob and the money. Trent is so in love with Eliza that he is blind to all the lies she told him that he believes her when she tells him the truth. Even with all of this the climax was quite exciting.

Assassin's Accomplice: a Victorian Romantic Suspense novelette (The Accomplice Novelette Trilogy Book 2) by Anna Lillian Wade

I enjoyed this walk down the dark side Victorian politics. Miss White can take the abusive Lord Rowell or take Mr. Thorne's help in exchange for helping him kill a Russian baron. This story has a side twist, not the romance between Mr. Thorne and Miss White that was a little unexpected. Let's just say that all is fair in love, war and politics.

Loving a Rebel: The Preacher's Daughter (Glory, Montana #1) by Linda Ford

This is a delightful tale of a town whose preacher has four beautiful daughters. This is about Fiona who wants freedom. Kade is a man who has lost loved ones to foolish choices. When Fiona is caught in a snow storm; she is trapped for two days with Kade. The connection they make over those two days is learning about each other. Suddenly, Kade is seeing Fiona with new eyes, and the freedom that Kade gives her helps her find out why she is always running. I look forward to more stories about Glory, Montana.

Roaring Hot! Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Rachelle Ayala (Author), Charley Ongel (Narrator), LLC Rachelle Ayala Publishing (Publisher)

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
I couldn't say whether Amy had loose morals or not. It seemed like her morals were good, but she gave in when she thought she would be kicked off the show. No matter how the author tried to write this; Amy and Teo are intrinsically too different in their value systems, except when it came to family. Even then, Teo would push her away, because family is a painful subject for him. It took memory loss for these two actually to get together. I was into it until. What a letdown! Reader is engaging, but there are places where even the reader had a hard time trying to engage the reader with the drivel.

The Billionaire's Email-Order Date: A Christmas Romance Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Vivi Holt (Author), Amanda Stribling (Narrator), Black Lab Press (Publisher)

This is a case of mistaken identity. The story is sweet and filled with Christmas magic, but the Chris is suspicious of Kate after he discovers he's taken an artist and singing telegram girl home, instead of an escort. The problem is Chris is falling in love with Kate. Kate is warm and engaging, but Chris at moments I just wanted to kick. The reader in the audiobook kind of helps this feeling along. The reader is excellent and engaging.

Make-Believe Honeymoon: Make-Believe Series, Book 3 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Vivi Holt (Author), Amanda Stribling (Narrator), Black Lab Press (Publisher)

This is a great story about a PI and his new hire. Callan is an ex-seal and Jesse is a widow with a 7 year old son. Her first assignment is to follow a couple on their honeymoon cruise. The sparks fly and they are not sure if either one is pretending anymore. The characters are realistic and the reader is excellent and engaging.

Blaze of Glory (Prospect Springs Shifter #1) by Mandy M. Roth (Goodreads Author), Mason Lloyd (Narrator)

This story started out great with guns blazing. I understand what was going down between Jonathan and Molly, but the ending and climax wasn't as good as the start of this book. The reader kept me engaged, but I was left at the end of the book as if I missed something.

King of Prey (King of Prey #1) by Mandy M. Roth

King Kabril's use of the human language is very funny and makes him very likeable. Although, I felt that Reina gave in way too easy to Kabril's deception. The reader gave a very good performance and kept you engaged in the story. Although, the fact that these shifters don't know their mates, but the human mate seems to dream of hers. I liked the story, but some major elements of the Bird shifter world are left out.

No Time for Love (No Brides Club #1) by Raine English

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is whimsical and at the same time really sad. A woman who spend all her time at work and makes no room to love anyone or anything. Fortunately, her dead aunt has a plan and a animal sanctuary with a sexy manager. I didn't think I was going to enjoy this story until I met Dylan.

Her Highland Secret: Steamy Historical Scottish Romance by Fiona Faris

This story is well-written, and the characters well developed. The fear that Ella has for man her father has given her to has her fleeing for her life. The highland warrior a couple have hidden becomes Ella's patient because of her healer knowledge. When he learns she fled her arranged marriage to his sworn enemy; Lucas take her into his protection. I loved the chemistry between Ella and Lucas.

The Secret of Her Guardian Sailor: An Inspirational Historical Romance Novel by Chloe Carley

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'm not sure what the secret is, but this is a very intense story. The perils and troubles that Noah and Rachel encounter as they cross from London to Charleston in the company of the pirate, Captain Frodsham, forge a love and friendship that will last a lifetime. Their forged friendship and love will take you on a grand adventure.

The Dragon's Redemption: A Shifter Romance (Healing Dragons Book 3) by Anastasia Chase

Rating:  ⭐
I enjoyed this story. It's more of a suspense than a romance novel, but it has all the compelling elements of both. The chemistry between these two is well written and the final climatic scene is spectacular.

There Are Plenty More Dukes in the Sea (The Inheritance Clause Book 1) by Samantha Holt

This is a light-hearted tale about a grandfather who sets a task for each of his grandchildren in order they may inherit. This first book is about the youngest who has to get a job. Lady Angel learns a lot about herself and being responsible for someone else. Mr. Hunter, Mrs. Stone's nephew, distrusts the reputation of Lady Angel and learns that you can't judge a person by the gossips. Can't wait to read the other books in the series.

The Holiday Box Set: Three Billionaire Holiday Romance Novels by Ellie Danes

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
These three stories are good to help warm you on a cold winter night. They are not only sensual, but will lift your spirits. Enjoy "A Holiday to Remember", "A Christmas With Snow" and "Christmas Gamble."

Werewolf’s Surrogate by Mia Wolf

I found I did not like the hero of this story. He softened as the story went on, and he learned a few lessons along the way. Although, he got in his own way most of the time. Felicity was also rough around the edges, but hers was forged from a hard childhood. These two deserved each other, but I fear for their daughter. Some things in the story are not well thought out, but overall it held the proper suspense and drama.

Love Through Adventure and Blood: A Historical Western Romance Book by Aurora Hanson

The only thing I can truly say about this story is that it was too long. Just when I thought I was at the climax of the story it continued on with 2 more climaxes. After the first one, I was ready for the story to be done. The real John Baptiste Charbonneau never married and fathered at least 2 children to 2 different women. In 1830, he was working for the American Trapping Company in Utah. Also, he looks nothing like the description given to him in the story.

John Baptiste Charbonneau

A Pilgrimage to Death (Reverend Cici Gurule Mysteries #1) by Alexa Padgett

Although this story is well-written and the characters finely developed, I found Cici Gurule lacking as a Reverend. Her faith is almost non existent and she is totally blind to the love around her. I know that she has spent the last year in grief, but maybe she should have taken a sabbatical from the church to come to grips with the death of her twin sister. Her friendship with the local police helped her keep up with the progress of the case. Romance is lacking, except for a suggestion of it at the very end for this to be even considered a cozy mystery. I did not find it be a high octane thriller as acclaimed in the description of the novel.

The Light in the Duke's Shadow: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Abigail Agar

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story deals with revenge and justice. What is the difference and how does the Duke get out from under the shadow of his parent's murders. Meeting Penelope changes how the Duke thinks and the wants in his life. Can Penelope get over the imagine curse over the women in her family and move forward with her life. This story is well written and keeps the suspense going to the very end.

The New Year's Date (Heartwarming Holidays Sweet Romance Book 11) by Id Johnson, Lauren Yearsley Morgan (Editor)

I've read most of the books in this series. This one involves Kate the therapist and Paul the truck driver. Kate gives Paul a chance when he seems to finally becoming involved in Cooper's life. Both have lost their spouses and on New Year's both Kate and Paul decide to move their lives forward. This is a good story to end the series.

Parker: Cowboys and Debutantes: Contemporary Series, Book 5 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Vivi Holt (Author), Dawson McBride (Narrator), Black Lab Press (Publisher)

I loved this story of the series. The reader has been engaging throughout, but Parker and Jennifer's friendship turns to more as they learn to care how the other is feeling and understanding the pain they are both going through. Throughout each story, Parker was the brother that most concerned me, and Vivi Holt brings such love and caring to a man like Parker.

Better off Wed: Annabelle Archer Wedding Planner Mystery, Book 1 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Laura Durham (Author), Stephanie Spicer (Narrator), Broadmoor Books (Publisher)

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This woman is unbelievable and I'm waiting for the climax of story where she confronts the killer. It did not disappoint and continued with the hilarity of Annabelle's idiocy. This woman should never be let near a crime scene ever again. The weird chemistry between the detective and Annabelle should also left alone. It only encourages Annabelle to do stupid things. Her friends, Richard and Kate, are way too flighty and make for bad mojo in helping Annabelle keep herself under control. It's a fun read and nothing in this book should ever be done or taken seriously.

Sacred Places (Druid #1) by Mandy M. Roth

This novella should have definitely been a novel. An excellent plot is done before the story finishes. The chemistry between Deri and Coyle is intense, but they hold off for three years.  Coyle kills off Chad in the middle of the story and everything is about the couple after that, leaving a huge gigantic epilogue. This is a bad start to a series, and maybe it should have been written in a novel format. I listened to this book in audio and the reader gives an excellent performance and his Scottish accents are spot on.

Maiden and the Monster Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Michelle M. Pillow (Author), Mason Lloyd (Narrator), The Raven Books (Publisher)

I listened to this story on Author's Direct. The reading of the story is powerful and the reader evokes the emotions of the characters into the story. During the climax of the story, I had tears running down my cheeks, feeling what the emotions of a woman who found love and then loses it in the next moment. The author made clear the emotions and pain that Vladamir feels and his actions are understandable in a man hurt by his king and dead wife. Why not feed the rumors and stories of a monster? The story is harsh and the pain and emotions truly come through with the reader, and makes the story truly emotionally powerful. This story is well-written and may not be historically accurate, but it captures the emotions of the people after the peace treaty with the Vikings.
