To Seduce a Rogue (Southern Heat #1) by Tracy Sumner

The interaction between these two characters was interesting, but the most interesting aspect between these two is the friendship they developed. She knew him and he knew her so that even when Adam pushed Charlotte away, she understood and did not get angry. He never got angry with her when she wouldn't let him buy her clothes when they went to Richmond. This is the part of their relationship that I truly enjoyed. What is really different about this story is that the woman is the aggressor and the man is the one who keeps running away. What I didn't like, was the boring dictionary items at the beginning of each chapter and sometimes the story seemed stopped at points.

Dream Doctor Dreams, Book 2 By: J.J. DiBenedetto Narrated by: Heather Jane Hogan

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed this book, but we always knew when Sara was in a dream. The monologue proceeding it warned us, "Sara is . . . ." The reader really gave it a dire tone, like something bad was going to happen. The plot is well written and with a very exciting ending. The characters are wonderful and engaging, but some emotional aspects I think took away from the story and away from the plot.

Mini Miracles (The Church Dogs of Charleston #1) by Melissa Storm

I loved this story of heartbreak and grief. Gavin reminds us that we can laugh again. Pastor Adams reminds us that love comes in many forms, Mama Mary shows us that even the smallest of God's creature can bravely go on through tragedy. Love never ends and can be found again if we let it grow.

Spun of Gold (Once Upon a Regency #3) by Jen Geigle Johnson

When I read this story, I thought what is wrong with this woman. When it dawned on me what was going on with the duke and duchess, I understood her reserve. I was kind of disappointed in the end of this book, but it is my own personal feelings of how I think a fairy tale should end. The characters are not as well developed as I would like, but the author had to hold everything back until the end.

Love Springs Anew: A Regency Romance Novella by Isabella Thorne

I liked this novella, because it wasn't about debutantes. Phillipa is a spinster, because she had a hysterical fit over her betrothed kissing another woman. It's about a widowed Duke finding love with a woman considered on the shelf. The conversations between these two are engaging and witty. I believe a little more could have been done to make these two more compelling towards each other.

A Marquis For Marianne by Catherine Bilson

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This should have been named "A Second Chance for Marianne". This story is about friendships and love that never dies. Can one be truly happy after enduring a marriage of abuse to a man you never wanted? Can a man forgive a woman who promise to wait and didn't? These are the questions that this story answers. It is deeply emotional and touched me deeply the abuse that this woman suffered.

The Marquess' Muse (Scandalous Nobility Book 3) by Madeline St.James

I really enjoyed this story about Charity Balfour. Because of her fall, Charity learned humility and not to think herself above any one else. The dangers that come to Charity's door bring Elias Turner back into her life. This story is about redemption and the strength of love.

Her Midnight Sin (Shadows and Silk #3) by Sofie Darling

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Talk about recklessness, this woman does everything to keep her farm, but the one thing guaranteed to keep it. This story kept me amused as the twists and turns of this story took surprising turns. Callie and Nylander kept me on my toes, because I had to go back a chapter once or twice to see what I had missed. The characters are very well developed and come to life on the page.

Stealing the Highlander's Heart (Tales of Blair Castle #2) by Fiona Faris

This is truly an epic story. It is filled with love, intrigue, battle and betrayal. A story of two hearts that connect beyond all circumstances and fight for the life that they want. I love it and the characters came to life while reading this story, even the supporting characters were so very well developed. I had a hard time putting it down.

The Charity of a Viscount (The Widowers of the Aristocracy #4) by Linda Rae Sande

This story read like a farce and it is quite fun. The Viscount lives in his head, and it gets him into a lot of trouble. The Dowager Countess of Wadworth is short funds and takes a job as a matchmaker. The characters are delightful and to thoroughly enjoy this story, you must not take anything seriously.

Elise's Journey (Eagle Creek Brides #1) by Karla Gracey

I loved this story, but Tom showed no trust in Elise. If he had told the truth, she would know what to do and how to protect Bailey. Elise is a wonderful mother and know that she needs Tom to keep Bailey. She finds forgiveness for Tom through the love that she has developed for him. This is a story that touched my heart.

The Viscount's Wife: Regency Romance (Weddings & Scandals) by Joyce Alec

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
This little mystery is quite strange, and the evil that her father and Lord Chaucer contrived is beyond means. The arrogance of Lord Chaucer is unbelievable and the fear he instilled in his servants is ridiculous. Not all of his servants could be loyal enough to cover up crimes by his Lord of this magnitude. The characters are well-developed, but I felt this story was a little bit over the top.

Sauce for the Gander (The Marstone Series Book 1) by Jayne Davis

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed this story. The Earl forcing Will to marry, thinking his son was in a marriage of his choosing. Only the bride is not a demure obedient lady as her father suggests. She is a woman who thinks for herself, and marrying Will will get her out of her father's house. These two together find a way to make the estate work and not be under the Earl's thumb. The characters are wonderful and colorful. The plot is fantastic and works all the way through this story. Even with all the things going down in Devonshire, these two make the most of their new life, even with a smuggling housekeeper, an informant to the Earl, and smugglers hiding their booty in their cellar. Will's wish to work for the government just might come true.

My Promise by Noah Bolinder

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story left me feeling sad. I got all the cryptic clues as my spiritual faith runs very deep in me, and I'm a very good mystery solver.  I cried for Grace as she realizes who the "The Professor" is. This story is very well written and drew me in. I became confused during the climax of the story, because I can't decide if she went home or she is still at the college. I actually felt a little letdown, because the epilogue is in another book. It makes the story seem as if it can't stand on its own.

Wounds of a Viscount by Deborah Wilson

I think this is the most intense novel of this series. Here we finally get to really meet Garrick Coalwater. Garrick is gone on Kent's governess. Honora has secrets that she can't reveal. The two characters are intense and the chemistry between them is undeniable. The two are tricked into marriage by Garrick's cousin and that's when things really heat up. I loved this story and the intensity of the drama and the chemistry between these two.

Scars of The Duke (The Valiant Love Regency Romance) (A Historical Romance Book) by Deborah Wilson

I was waiting for this story, as we keep hearing about the fair Selena and how she disappeared. Now, we have the whole story and an interfering brother who just may be a little bit mad. Selena must find forgiveness in her heart and she has serious trust issues. Marley regrets not speaking to Selena before he left to go put his brother back into Bedlam. That was the day Marley was kidnapped by Mr. Goody. The only way that these two will ever have a chance is they are completely open and honest with each about the past. This story is well written and leaves you ready for more.

Dancing with an Enigmatic Duke: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Abigail Agar

For a Duke who doesn't like dancing, he sure knows how. Emmeline and Nash danced around each other to keep Harcourt and Nash's mother from matchmaking. The story is well written and whimsical. I loved how Miss Durant got her just desserts. There is more epilogue than I thought necessary, but I think the author wanted to give Lord Hawley a happily ever after also.

Love Behind Enemy Lines: A Christian Historical Romance Novel by Chloe Carley

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a Revolutionary War romance. It centers around Jamestown, Virginia and how two people find love on the battlefield. One is a nurse who has dedicated her life to nursing the soldiers and the other is a man wanted for murder in England. George was framed for murder and ran from the authorities. Lizzie was a nurse with a much too generous heart. George finds salvation for his heart and soul. Lizzie finds there is more to live for than just saving soldiers. I didn't realize that this is a companion book to "The Secret of Her Guardian Sailor" until the very end of the story. The extended epilogue for this book brings both stories together. I loved this story, even though it included the ugliness and savagery of war. It's an example of how with courage and love, we can overcome.

A Tormented Bride for the Courageous Cowboy: A Historical Western Romance Book by Etta Foster

Sometimes, I just don't like a title; too many adjectives. The story starts out well, but Matthew is too conflicting at times. The description lead me to believe that they had some fierce-some fights that don't happen, mostly it's just snappiness. How they ever fell in love is a mystery. The lies Grace tells are bold and then she has a chance to come clean; she still lies. Matthew becomes likeable later when he starts really courting Grace, but Grace kept hiding in cowardice and caused Matthew's mother to be hurt. Lying is a sin, and you can see the grave mistake in Grace's sin. Personally, Matthew could have done better and so could the author.

The Defiant Governess of Rosenhill Manor: A Historical Regency Romance Novel by Hanna Hamilton

Eliza is the heroine of this story. She is a woman who know how to do things. She has her own weaknesses but she tries to overcome the night terrors, by helping those in the village during the night. Our hero is trying to overcome the horrors of what his father has done and seeks to redeem his family's honor by returning what he can to the families that his father practically destroyed. After a harrowing experience, and be saved by a handsome man, Eliza decides to help people during the day. Eliza goes to work at Rosenhill for the Duke's brother and sister. After this, the story takes a turn toward the mystery of an assassin trying to kill Arthur, and what the death of Eliza parents had to do with the old Duke. This story is action-packed, and very romantic. Eliza is fearless and Arthur is determined to find the person who is trying to kill him and restore honor to the Huntley name. All the characters in this story are well-developed and the story's takes a strange, but exciting turn.

Enchanted by the Mysterious Marquess: A Clean & Sweet Regency Historical Romance by Fanny Finch

When I started reading this story, I could have thought I read it before. The story itself is filled with intrigue, mystery and a handsome Marquess who doesn't know when to stop. It's why he gets caught up in Lavinia life. I knew who the bad guy was in this story. The Lord everyone focuses on is a villain, but he is not the truly despicable one in this story. He is smart, but when he believes he has won; he shows his hand. Pride and vanity is the villain's downfall every time. The story and plot end in an exciting climax.

A Duke Most Desirable by Lucinda Nelson

This is simply a misunderstanding of a love that has been too long been pulled apart. The author never did tell us why Arthur had to spend 5 years out of England. The real problem with this novel is that everyone was so concerned about propriety, that they almost lost the most valuable thing; each other. The plot and climax of the book is very good, but there were times I was bored out of my mind about all the propriety that had to be observed. I found Arthur to be really selfish, because he did not tell his parents about Diana before he left and the promise he made to her. If he had done this, none of the machinations would have happen.

Love Against All Odds: A Historical Western Romance Collection by Carol Colyer

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've read the first and last book of the series and have reviewed them. If you want to know what I reviewed about these books, you can find them in the search bar of my blog.

Love Finally Takes Control, Book 2
I loved this story. Amy is a take charge kind of women and says things as they are. Oliver learns to appreciate the woman that Amy is and before they can even get married. It seems the world is intent on intruding in their lives. Amy takes it all in stride and helps Oliver to straighten every thing out. There is a lot of action in this novel and the love that develops between these two is well written.

This is the best of the three novels.

The Billionaire's Email-Order Bride Email-Order Romance, Book 2 By: Vivi Holt Narrated by: Amanda Stribling

In this story each character chose to enter into a companionable marriage. It's easy to love when you are being kind to each other. They each listened to each other and love developed between them. This story hits all the highs and lows of living with a stranger. With the marriage bond between them they try to work things out, but when things don't seem permanent, I found Eve a very selfish person. John tried very hard in this relationship, but when push came to shove; he couldn't overcome Eve's ambition. His only choice was to let her go. The climax of this story is very slow in coming, but John being a CEO is very deliberate in his planning. You'll love the ending, and everything is not resolved. Eventually, I knew it would be.
