So Wide the Sky (The Women's West Series, Book 1) By Elizabeth Grayson

I received this book from ebook discovery for review. I read two chapters into it and realized I read this book four years ago before I started reviewing for my blog.

This story is deeply emotional on all levels. Cassie is not the same woman that Drew fell I love with nine years ago. She spent years as a Kiowa slave. She was bought by a Cheyenne chief, and was married to him until he no longer needed her, sold her back to the whites for food for the winter.

Drew marries her because he feels guilty for not saving her on the Santa Fe Trail. He treats her with no respect and eventually Cassie divorces him Indian style. The tensions are high and Drew is definitely not the same boy that Cassie remembers. It’s a story of tragedy, love, courage and pride. How does one fit back into a life where no one understands? Where the life you were comfortable in is torn away because you are worth more gone; what do you do? And the one man who understands cannot help you become part of your old society.

This story asks all these questions and delivers an astoundingly emotional story.

It's Never Too Late for Love Everyone Deserves a Fairy Tale Ending By: Marsha Casper Cook Narrated by: Greg Nelson

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The first problem with this story is Jewish Angels, and one that comes is the form of a talking dog. Dogs are good at listening, but I don't think I would be taking advice from one. The main characters in this story are lovable and you hope that Noah will start looking at  what's right in front of him. Annie is a doer, and knows how to get the job done, but when it comes to men, Annie is too much an introvert. Annie's real desire is Noah. I laughed, cried and yelled at Noah and Annie. It's a great romantic farce of a fairy tale.

The Dragon and the Singer (Made for Each Other: The Dragon Shifters (#1) by Renee Carr

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is kind of fun and whimsical. Ivy is sassy and knows what she wants. Nathan is King of the Dragons and knows he can lead his people. One night when Nathan is relaxing on earth; he comes face to face with Ivy in a nightclub. He knows that she is his fated mate. Nathan is kind of stuffy and old fashion. There are lots of problems running a kingdom and trying to romance your mate. This is where it gets whimsical and sometimes mushy which makes for a couple of giggles. I liked the characters and although Nathan is slow on the intake; he eventually gets the issues and knows how to handle them. The ending is good and I can't wait to see how the author handles the next book.

Her Summer Duke: Regency Romance by Arietta Richmond

It's a good thing Captain Halstone waited Margaret out. This story is written completely with her and him separate for most of the story. They meet in the first chapter and don't get back together until the last couple chapters of the story. I found I did not like the heroine of this story. Captain Halstone deserved a woman better than Margaret, but how do you tell a woman you love her and not tell her your real name? By the time these two get together, his brother has died and he is a Duke. The men that Margaret goes through and uses is unbelievable showing off her selfish personality and her impulsiveness. I didn't get a real sense of Adam, except that he acts honorably, and knows what he wants. The plot was good, but the story lost something in its writing.

The Lord who Captured Her Innocent Heart: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Abigail Agar

Rating: ⭐⭐
I think that this is the a really idiotic plot. The story is well written, but the love these two develop for each other is kind of weird. Social Butterflies do not fall in love with Bookworms. Ella is dumb for a bookworm. She could have lured Fredrick away into the library for hours; instead of whining to Peter. Peter could have whirled her away on the dance floor and escorted her around the room away from her fiance. So the idiocy of their plan was bound to fail when they didn't take steps to keep the other apart from each other.

Rogues Like It Hot by Tamara Gill, Rose Pearson, Angelique Armae, Bianca Blythe, Sandra Sookoo , Samantha Holt , Arietta Richmond, Kelly Anne Bruce , Shereen Vedam

I enjoyed all ten of these short novellas. Each has its own story with a theme of summer. My favorites were A Reversal of Fortune by Rose Pearson, The Scottish Governess by Arietta Richmond, Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt. The other seven stories range from just okay to good. My least favorite was The Duke's House Party Match by Kelly Anne Bruce.

Texas Outlaw (Wild Texas Nights #1) by Adrienne deWolfe

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is a fun ride with cardsharp Fanny and Tinstar Cord. Fanny is fun and witty. Cord is seriously attracted to Fanny and she doesn't help the matter, because she uses it to escape Cord. How Cord manipulates the law to get Fanny off; takes away from the story somewhat. If Cord wants to keep Fanny, he's going to have to choose his Tin Star or Fanny. I loved the train ride and all the tricks Fanny pulls. Cord has to use all his wits to keep up with her. I liked the ride, but thought the ending could have been better.

Painted by the Sun (The Women's West #4) by Elizabeth Grayson

This story touches the heart. A man who is empty because of a decision years ago that cause harm to his own family. A woman who gave away her baby when she became homeless and now searches along the orphan train that took her baby away. These two come to love each other filling the emptiness with each other. This story is filled with a lot of tragedy, but also a lot of hope. This story is about two mature people who find that they need each other in their lives, but circumstances will find them coming to odds. The characters are compelling and the story draws you in til its conclusion.

Texas Wildcat (Wild Texas Nights #3) by Adrienne deWolfe

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I absolutely loved this story. The heat between these two seem to always erupt as anger. Bailey is a woman running a sheep ranch, and Zack runs a cattle ranch and is President of the local Cattlemen's Association. Bailey has to deal with all sexism on top of one of her neighbors destroying her fences and stealing her water. If Zack is going to get Bailey to have him, he is going to have to love all of Bailey, even her male side; cause Bailey is not going to give up having a say in the running of her ranch. Between the range war about to begin and the drought, tempers are high, but Bailey finds ways to get the Cattlemen and the Woolgrowers come together, even if it's in the form of competition and the Woolgrowers take credit for it. This is a firecracker of a story and I loved it.

Highlander's Wicked Game: Scottish Medieval Highlander Romance Novel by Fiona Faris

Surprisingly, this love story takes on epic proportions. Not only is there romance, but two clans have to come together to fight against a tyrannical clan laird. Duncan must choose his clan or Maira, or try to alliance a weaker clan to themselves. The machinations of the MacDonald clan will destroy many of the lives of these two clans, but they rise above the feud of their fathers to forge a new future.

The Viscount's Heart: Regency Romance (Weddings and Scandals) by Joyce Alec

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is delightful. Emily and Arthur are wonderful. Arthur is a little slow to realize his feelings, but knows that Davenport is not right for Emily. Emily is looking at spinsterhood, if she doesn't attract a man soon. What hoops and lines that Arthur crosses to prove to Emily that Davenport is not worth her, doesn't matter until Arthur can face his own feelings and what he wants from Emily.

Heaven's Promise (Haunting Hearts Series, Book 2) by Rachel Wilson

This was a very intriguing book. Susan is a suffragist and Susan wants to learn what happened to her great-aunt. Julian is a newspaper man looking for a tantalizing story. Susan teams up with Julian to keep an eye on him to make sure he won't make up a story about her great-aunt. What Julian and Susan find is a tragic ending to her great-aunt's life, a few ghosts and love.

Her Second Chance Billionaire Boss (Baton Rouge Second Chance Romance) by Hanna Hart

I loved this contemporary romance. Both characters are lovable, and hope that Hazel can overcome her secrets to give herself fully to Brayden. I loved the story and felt happy when I finished reading it.

Jeb's Mate (The Quinton Shifters #6) by Abigail Raines

Jeb is a man driven by the guilt of killing his friend. Shelly is Jeb's mate, but the problem is all in his head. Everything gets explained later on in the book. The plot is well thought out, but the self effacing is annoying. The climax is exciting and ending with our happily ever after.

New Blood (River Clan Shifters #1) by Celeste Raye

The beginning of this story is absolutely scary crazy, and what happens to Ali is terrifying. The author tries to make the wolves sound like the better option, but are they in reality? The author makes the vampires to seem worse, but then what is the Alpha doing going around murdering vampires just so he can keep his child alive. All this carnage is detrimental to the soul, not a life fit for a happily ever after.

Texas Cowboy's Protection (Don't Mess With Texas Cowboys #1) by Barb Han

This is a nice romance with a bit of suspense. Both characters are lovable and the emotions expressed are deep. For me, this story is was intense at times, but the author delivered a well written and thoughtful story.

Marry Me For Money by Ali Parker (Book 1)

This story had a lot of potential until the author decided it needed to be in three parts. The book leaves off at the worst place possible. At this point, I have no desire to read the rest, because as far as I am concerned this guy is a sleazeball and the female in this case deserves better.

Spicy Chocolate Book 3 of the Alcott Family Adventures By: Dawn Greenfield Ireland Narrated by: Kelley Hazen

This is supposed to be a mystery, but it more chaos and stupidity of the Alcott Family. I was so glad when the book finally came to a close, because there is about eight different things going and nothing to do with each other. The scene where all the women go and take on the kidnappers made me cringe and realize how stupid all of these characters are. It's a wonder that this family has any wealth at all with all the stupid mistakes they made in this book. The only good thing about this story is the reader. Story is too long and downright boring at times.

Cookies with a Side of Danger A Danger in Treasure Cove Cozy Mystery By: Meredith Potts Narrated by: Lili Dubuque

I love Sabrina Carlson and her instincts. The reader uses varying voices and I get a kick when she does Dave's voice. It's like listening to someone trying to imitate a stern cop. Sabrina is responsible in her investigations and does not do stupid things, like other cozy mysteries. There a twist and a bunch of stupid suspects. The problem here is everyone of their suspects have no alibi and all of their suspects are not cooperative. Personally, if I was Dave, as soon as someone got belligerent or hostile, I would be dragging them down to the station for hours of intensive questioning. The one thing I do not like about Dave is his way of questioning a suspect. It makes a person defensive rather than helpful. Sabrina is lovable and personable. Her coffee shop is the center of town news.
