Time of the Warrior: A Medieval Time Travel Romance (Stones of Scotland #1) by Ivy Hollins

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story takes place in a future where time travel is possible. Kara finds Scotland in the early 1000's fascinating, but she finds the Drest, the warrior laird compelling. In this story, we find that Kara has more to do with the past than just visiting it. A future that is just as rooted in the past than in the future. I found the descriptions and accuracy of how the people lived at that time captivating. The deceit that all people, no matter what the time period, are capable of interesting as it played into the politics of a kingdom that history has already played out. The plot and story are well thought out and written. It shows as our main characters work towards a unseen goal that ends with both losing their hearts to each other.

Clara's Mail Order Joy (Home for Christmas Book 5) by Natalie Dean

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is about a woman struggling to make it in Colorado. Her new husband is amiable, but isn't concerned about making a society where they live. He is concerned about her being happy, and with her sisters living near; he hopes she can find some happiness with him. Clara is going to learn that home is where the heart is, and by becoming a mail order bride, her home is now in Colorado.

Lords to Lust For: A Historical Regency Romance Collection by Henrietta Harding

I want to say I liked two of the three books. I found I don't like my heroine to be a selfish, immature & unthinking woman.

A Guardian For the Ravishing Countess

I loved this story. It goes to show that the heart wants what it wants. It seems improper to fall in love with your ward, but the Ton should have been more circumspect in appointing a man who is still in his prime. In the end, both fight for what they want, and isn't love worth fighting for?

The Mischievous Plan of a Fiery Lady

This woman is lucky she didn't lose the Duke fully. Let's just her mischievousness could have seriously backfired and the Ton could have really taken her down. This is story is whimsical and based on a stupid's woman's pride. I felt sorry for the poor maid that had to play her. She is the real victim in this farce, yet the author did not take her into account when everything came out. As for the Duke, he can marry anyone he wants to, because he's a Duke, only the Duke needed money to keep his newly inherited title from folding in on itself. I found Isabella selfish, unthinking and very stupid in her plan to fool the Duke. As far as I'm concerned, the Duke should have exposed her plan to show her how selfish and unthinking she was. I don't understand how he could love such a manipulative woman.

The Irresistible Allure of a Lady Spy

I loved this story. Both main characters are wonderful and want more from life. Mary is willing to risk herself to help Isaac, but doesn't realize that she is also risking her heart. Isaac wants to be a better spymaster and wants to get the information that they need. Isaac takes up Mary's suggestion and uses Mary to get the information. What Isaac did expect was losing his heart to Mary. There are lots of complications and the story plot follows through to the end.

Highland Trails of Love by Barbara Bard

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I like the books. I've reviewed Highland Savior, Highlan

Highlander's Savior
I must say that the characters are well-developed and an excellent plot. What I have to say about Drew's javelin injury healing in two days is ridiculous unless he's a paranormal. Although campaign's could last for month's, once the fighting started, it was over pretty quickly. Four days, before they confront the commander of the army is rather sad for the Scottish Highlander. Although Blair and Drew convince Rosemary and Sarah to go to the Highlands, they were nothing more than English prizes and reminders of a how they won the battle against Lord Flynn.

Highlander's Captive
Declan is young and impetuous. It's his failing. Catherine will escape because of him. To prove to his clan, he is not a failure; he runs after her to bring her back. The only thing that is going to save Declan is the fact that Catherine loves him. This story is powerful and tells us foibles of being impetuous. Declan, I like him, but I wanted to smack him for his foolishness. Catherine, I understood not wanting to be a captive. Her problem was naivety of the situation and her father's grievance again the Scottish. It's a story worth reading about the sensitivities of war.

Highlander's Revenge
I loved this story. Alastair seems a bit crazed when we meet him in Highlander's Captive, but we get a sense of who he actually is and what he may become. It is Rebecca that he seems to be himself with and Rebecca who helps him realize who he is. The war that is coming will either be realize or maybe it can be diverted, if he takes up his father's mantle. There is lots of action, but it the depth of hurt and betrayal along with all his years in captivity that makes this story very riveting. I think what will Alastair do or how is he going to react? I think the author was kinder to Alastair than I would have been, but she kept to the core of his character no matter hard that had to be.

A Fearless Lady Craving Freedom: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Bridget Barton

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story takes on the action of a spirited woman who craves adventure and freedom. When her cousin goes missing, she takes the chance with one Ewan Sinclair to find her. Love finds the pair. They find that they are willing to risk it all for each other after finding her cousin risking it all for love. This story finds two people who find what is missing in their lives, but also distinguishes that they are also respectful of the their position in society. What are we willing to give up for the one we love and is the pain of living without worth living.

A Mysterious Bride for the Lone Sheriff by Clarice Mayfield

I liked this story. Unfortunately, has a few flaws, especially when dealing with law enforcement in that day and age. Jane Winster's story is long and complicated. No matter what, the sheriff would try to find out the truth, but she never really helped her case in this story. Lawrence sees that Jane won't talk, but never really understands why. He only realizes she has disappeared, because someone took her. It is when he realizes that he has begun to trust her. This story has the investigation skills that are applied in today's police. This is where the real flaw in the story is found. Lawrence Charles is a modern day cop in the old west law environment.

A Christmas Miracle for the Hopeless Rancher by Etta Foster

Louise is engaging and believes Richard to be the answer to her opportunity for a good marriage. Richard wants a clever woman and Louise is as clever as they come. Although, a tragedy strikes this family, Louise never gives up hope and seeks ways to help Richard. Richard's brother is a jealous creature and tries to steal Louise from Richard. The courage that Louise shows as she stands by and for Richard, even as Richard tries to push her away is a testament to the strength of character and an action of love that leads both of them to falling in love with each other.

To Romance A Scoundrel Audrey Ashwood and Rosie Wynter

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really liked this story. The author really showed the disparity of maturity between the two characters. The Earl of Dalton was a man of character and understood what he wanted from life. Claire, even though she was of age, was a romanticist and immature. Her heart was easily turned by a man who found how to manipulate women by the turn of words. The Earl gave up on her when he found out her heart had turned to Mr. Hawkins. His only thought was of Claire, when he found out that Mr. Hawkins eloped with another woman. Claire discovered what real love is and it is not found in the turn of a word. It is found in a man who is honorable and true to his word.
