The Lift is a short, sweet romance novella. Although stuck in elevator with a famous actor and late for her appointment, Billie makes the best of the situation and decides to be herself and help ease the man's claustrophobia. Brendan spent 5 years married to a woman named Evie and after their son is stillborn. Evie divorces Brendan and hooks up with his agent. Because of his stardom, women don't act themselves around him and he has been buried in his grief and anger for 2 years. Billie brings out something in him. Can you fall in love stuck in elevator for 3 to 4 hours? Or this just the start to a new and wonderful relationship? I loved this little story. I felt the heroine was whimsy and the hero was charming, after he settled down. This is great for a quick afternoon read.
