This story is one that is hard hitting. A man who dreams big and pursue that dream, but only to have it crash and burn. As the story goes on, we see all the wrong choices he made along the way. How he initially turned his back on his childhood sweetheart, turned his back on his hometown and his family, and God. It seemed everything Jake touched turned to ash and now his grandfather had forced him to stay in Bluff Creek to claim his inheritance. The Prodigal Son has returned home, but to what end? It's not until Jake puts God back on the throne that Jake will find peace and contentment. I hurt for Jake & Julie. Julie found out that no matter the situation, love will find you and never leave you. For Jake, it was letting go of the anger and bitterness that let him see his situation clearly.
