The characters in this story are fascinating. Nobody is what they seem and the interactions between the characters can be very intense. Henrietta is looking for an escape from her betrothal. She decides to blackmail a pirate (shaking my head) and gets kidnapped on his ship when the Revenuers show up. The story takes another turn and we find out the Rogue is actually the brother of the Earl Henrietta is betrothed. The antics the villains take on are amusing and sometimes downright stupid. The brothers are both forces to be reckoned with and to be avoided. Most stories have a point where the story takes a turn, but this one takes several before Lawrence can get it through his head, he is stuck with Henrietta.
