This story feels like a much better take on the rather nasty Rumpelstiltskin. At least in this version, everyone's happy, except for the Duke. Frankly, nothing could truly make that man happy, and after he terrorized Elara and her father, why would she ever marry him? Running away with the illegitimate Prince, who actually helped Elara, seems like a far better choice.
