This is a strange but romantic tale. First of all, the forced marriage to a gypsy girl would never happen. The Romain in England would have abide by England law while in England. Their rules only apply in their country and encampments. So technically, she could never divorce him. The story however is well written and there is lots of intrigue and passion. So this would I chalk up to a well written fairy tale.
