Here is a man trying to keep out of the marriage mart. Mr. Stephen Paxton gets involved with a woman when Lord Atherton is brutally attack at his own party. The repartee between these two is delightful. Julia keeps Stephen on his toes, and he realizes now that the mystery is solved. He doesn't want to go on without her. The plot is well thought out and works very well within the story lines. I get tired of Mr. Paxton trying to shake off what he is feeling, but he does finally recognize his feelings. Which makes him the hero in the end.
