Lavinia is a shy wallflower that is so desperate after four seasons and her family is not helping. She decides to throw herself at a man, unfortunately it was the wrong man, the Duke of Hargraves. It decides to help her but something seriously goes wrong, Andrew decides to marry her but to Lavinia everything now seems more wrong than ever. The Duke of Hargraves is seriously mentally ill, although the author plays it off as being abused. So when made to confront his emotions, he goes in exactly the opposite direction. Lavinia is not complaining about a husband that spends all his time making her happy. Personally, it would drive me insane.
