Nate's Destiny (MacLarens of Boundary Mountain #6) by Shirleen Davies

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
First, I want to say I love this cover. It draws you in with the loneliness of the lawman. I loved Nate and Geneen's story, although I thought Nate was a coward when it came to Geneen. A woman who stood with him through it all and then because he thinks he'll never be whole. He runs away. The problem was he needed Geneen to break the mental hold opium had on him. Of course, no one ever explained this to Geneen, because in the 1800's, men thought women couldn't understand these kinds of things. I hate this mentality, and it wasn't true for the West in the 1800's. Author portrayed Geneen as a strong, and independent woman, who knew her mind and heart. Nate did not respect this when he walked away without saying goodbye. The only thing I didn't like was the author never let Nate explain to Geneen, which makes Geneen immature and selfish, which by the rest of the book was not true.
