This is a well written story and I like the fact that they became attracted to one another before they were formally introduced. What Luke's cousin tries to do is horrible, but I don't see how it could have worked with Elizabeth's heart already engaged to Luke's. I'm trying to think of what Luke's regret is, but it is probably trying to help his cousin. Elizabeth is a woman not to turn your back on. Though she is obedient to her parents, she is glad that the man she was betrothed to as a child is a man whom she can love.
