The Heart Knows No Limits by Lorelei Brogan

Rating:  ⭐
Can I say this story is the biggest farce, and the most misleading about the law in the Old West. All marriage contracts done by marriage marts for mail order bride says that if the man is found to unacceptable by law or reputation or found to be dangerous. The mail order bride could get back on the train and the contract would be null and void. Lets face it, the moment he held a gun on Bella in the store the contract was void. But the story played out til good ole Thomas was put out of his misery and everyone elses. I was so glad when this story was finally over and no I did not read the extended epilogue.

The Mysterious Past of a Delicate Flower by Bridget Barton

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one  is a hit. I love the characters in this story. The suspense and mystery are excellent with a wonderful twist at the end of the story. I felt so sorry for Flora, because she ended up suspecting everyone, including her aunt, and she truly had no one to turn to. All of her suitors discover that Flora is not a wallflower to be trampled on and shows that she can take leadership when she has to. Our Lieutenant Paggett is surprised by Flora at every turn, and loses his heart to her. I think this is probably the best that Bridget Barton has written.

The Long Road Home (A Bluff Creek Novel Book 1) by Amanda Mason

 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is one that is hard hitting. A man who dreams big and pursue that dream, but only to have it crash and burn. As the story goes on, we see all the wrong choices he made along the way. How he initially turned his back on his childhood sweetheart, turned his back on his hometown and his family, and God. It seemed everything Jake touched turned to ash and now his grandfather had forced him to stay in Bluff Creek to claim his inheritance. The Prodigal Son has returned home, but to what end? It's not until Jake puts God back on the throne that Jake will find peace and contentment. I hurt for Jake & Julie. Julie found out that no matter the situation, love will find you and never leave you. For Jake, it was letting go of the anger and bitterness that let him see his situation clearly. Let the song of this story ring through your soul: Does God sit on the seat of your throne?

The Billionaire Shifter's True Alpha (Billionaire Shifters Club #5) by Diana Seere

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
This story is okay as far as a shifter book goes. This is the fifth one in the series, but it is the first one I've read in the series. The book does a lot of referring back, but by the end of the first chapter you know where Zach's head is at. Sophia is your typical sleep with every man woman. She even wanted Zach when he was human and built like a geek. She definitely approves of the new genetic version of him. The problem with this story is that it focuses on the mating and leaves the story line and plot behind. I got bored with some of the scenes and just skimmed over them.

Four Corners of Heaven (Harrow's Finest Five #4) by Nancy Yeager

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is fanciful, but leads into the question of women scientist. As a noble, she would be ostracized for her bluestocking ways, but she has an opportunity to help another scientist and takes the chance in helping him with his research. I love this couple because they deny all things between them, so not to ruin their chances at the university. Much like today, with the rule we impose on ourselves. Do not date anyone you work with! This is why the story falls into a farcical romantic comedy.

A Gentleman's Daughter: Her Choice (A Gentleman's Daughter #1) by Reina M. Williams

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is a bit confusing by the description which I believe is very poor. The story however is about a girl whisked away from an improper husband and whisked into society to find an appropriate husband. She finds a man she can fall in love with, but he is not like any other beau she has dealt with. He is not the charming and light-hearted rogue whom she originally fell in love with, but she feels safe in his presence. This story is written from a girl's perspective and not a woman's. I feel it really states what society did to their children to get them married off before they were even ready to consider marriage. Her father realizes this late in the book after Cecilia had already gotten into trouble. Her father also takes her mother to task about this. This gives Cecilia time to understand her heart and all the confusing feelings that are going on in her heart and mind.

Dancing With a Lady by Abigail Agar

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a quiet and delightful story of a woman who has no desire to marry. She find an American man who loves her stories and find her fascinating because she is different. They do the typical dance, eventually they fall in love. This is a story where the differences in each other matter.

Inconveniently Betrothed to an Earl by Abby Ayles

Rate: ⭐⭐
I didn't like this story. Although it was fraught with intrigue, Eleanor and Ambrose leave a lot to be desired. I found their characters lacking and how they fell in love with each other is beyond the pale, because these two are so filled with animosity I don't see how they could get over it. I liked the plot, but the characters lack likability.

Spellbound by Her Loving Smile by Carol Colyer

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is about two characters with different dreams, but dreams change when love is involved. We find the truth about Buck's past, but sometimes we have to stop living in the past to live for our future. And sometimes our future is right in front of us. Maggie and Buck are about to find out these truths.

Wicked Wagers The Complete Trilogy (Wicked Wagers #1-3) by Bronwen Evans

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This a wonderful set of stories. Each one is over 80000 words, so it's going to last you a while. They are fun to read and you'll enjoy the devilment they get up to.

To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield
Men should never bet against women, because it seems when they do the only thing they truly lose is their heart. That's what happened in this story, Caitlin determined to win her father's estate back challenges the Duke. There are also underlying causes to the whys of why the Duke set up Caitlin's father to lose his estates, but he hides these from Caitlin because he is intrigued by her. The story gets more tangled as the wagers continue. It's very enjoyable, and the chemistry between Caitlin and the Duke is explosive.

To Wager the Marquis of Wolverstone
This story starts out rather slow, but it is daring in its approach to reduce someone to ashes. The Countess is quite the daring woman for her century. The Marquis loves a wicked wager and this is one he can get into. Unfortunately, while getting revenge, the heart still beats for each other. This is a wager everyone or no one will win, except the reader.

To Challenge the Earl of Cravenswood
This the best one of the trilogy. Amy is delightful and and daring. The Earl is fond of his neighbor, and becomes more intrigued when he finds her routing around in his garden. He more intrigued by the owner of the emerald earring he found after kissing some strange woman in his garden the night before. This is a fun romp and Amy gives him a run for his money.

No Time for Regrets (The No Brides Club #12) by Karen McCullough

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love these stories, but it seems every time someone join's the No Brides Club, they become a bride. Matt and Sam are no different, but Matt truly wants to make them work. So he goes out of his way to help the tenants in her building to move.

Highlander's Flower (Highlanders Warriors Clan McClair #0.5) by Barbara Bard

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a story of healing. He goes into protection mode when he finds his own people attempting to hurt her. After hearing her story, he becomes her protector, even from his own people. Even though she is English, he forces his people to accept her. I love the heart of this big warrior; he knows how to use his strength for good and with purpose. I always get caught up in the machinations of the era.

Healing the Broken Marchioness: Historical Regency Romance (Laced Up Ladies Book 2) by Ella Edon

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a sad tale of a remote cousin inheriting the Marquess title. Sometimes after the death of a noble, it takes months to find the next in line. This is the case in the instance of Arthur. The late Marquess's wife has other ideas of allowing Arthur access to the estate. The problem is that both desire the other, and Katherine realizes that she can't keep Arthur from taking possession. Arthur doesn't want to throw the Dowager Marchioness from his home, but make her his Marchioness. I like this story, because as Katherine became more reasonable, she became the Marchioness that she truly was all along.

Mystery in the Secluded Mansion: A Cozy Mystery Book by Cynthia Raye

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This just goes to show what can happen when you accept an invitation from someone you don't know. April and Drake spend the weekend trying to figure out who is trying to kill them all. This book has a good plot and an excellent mystery. My problem is the stupidity of people accepting an invitation from someone they didn't know.

The Rescued Bride's Savior: Historical Western Mail Order Bride Romance Bear Creek Brides, Book 1 By: Amelia Rose Narrated by: Alan Taylor

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved Matthew in this story. He really opened his life to Jenny, even though he didn't require marriage for her to come to his ranch. Jenny I found she played the I want to build my own life card way too much. She didn't even think what she was imposing on Matthew. Matthew however fell hard for Jenny, and wanted to find some way to show Jenny how much he cared. Unfortunately, the miners tried to start a war while Jenny was in the Indian's camp. The plot & story line are excellent, but Jenny's character was off putting at times, and her cooking skills are quite different translating them from a recipe to actually cooking, especially when you have never cooked before. Her mother was fortunate that she knew how to do certain things, even though she never actually did them herself.

Fire Maidens: London Billionaires & Bodyguards, Book 2 By: Anna Lowe Narrated by: Kelsey Osborne

Rated: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this story. Gemma is a star. Unlike her predecessor Natalie in London, Gemma is a go-getter, and self assured. Although she thinks Liam is as crazy as her father, she is still kind and caring, also there is that chemistry that Liam stirs in her. This one is a winner and I thought the Guardians were bad in Paris, they are even worse in London. It's no wonder the magic that hides the shifters is weakening. The narrator brings a certain life to the heroine. I also think if the book was read by both a male & female reader, reading the perspective from the hero & heroines point of view would bring a whole new dimension to this story.

Until Murder Do Us Part: A Cozy Mystery Book by Cynthia Raye

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story and the plot were excellent. Where this story fails is where most cozy mysteries have a light whimsical atmosphere to them, this one does not. The characters are all resistant and I'm not sure how a retired teacher could actually do all that detective work and afford to access all the internet access programs that gets you the information you need on people. From recent experience, I know how quickly someone gets buried or cremated if it is determined natural causes and no autopsy will be performed, unless they are an organ donor. I liked Jessica because she is around my own age, but her thought processes are extremely different than mine, causing confusion about what a woman that age is thinking. I don't know how old the author is because her picture is not posted on Amazon, Goodreads or Bookbub.

Highland Retribution (The Band of Cousins #3) by Keira Montclair

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this story. There is so much mystery to Cairstine, but she is a woman worth fighting for, because Braden is beginning to believe her. He doesn't understand why Ronan killed himself, but Braden is willing to protect the woman Cairstine hidden in a ruin of a castle. Cairstine is protects herself and her son by secreting her son away. His identity and whereabouts are the utmost importance to her. Meeting Braden gives her hope. We all need hope.

The Lady of the Lighthouse by Abby Ayles

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this story. Although it started off slow with a little scare element, the story of Oliver & Diana is a cozy romance, until the big bad wolf shows up. It takes Oliver's secret life to save Diana and Oliver's love and willingness to do so. The villain in this story is a reflection of the evils of greed & lechery, and it is so easy to hate him. This story is written in the true sense of a fairy tale.

Pioneer Dream (The O'Rourke Family Montana Saga #1) by Ramona Flightner

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is an excellent start to a series. The O'Rourke family is warm and inviting. Aileen is being deceived by her aunt and she has fallen for Kevin O'Rourke's charms. Aileen must learn what a true family is before she can realize her dream. There is plenty afoot in this story, and what seems to be the truth turns into an awful deception.  I enjoyed meeting the O'Rourke's and their untypical family.

Angie and the Farmer (An Oregon Trail Time Travel Romance #4) by Susan Leigh Carlton

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is an interesting tale of the future meeting the past. It has a happy ending for Angie, but leaves everyone here in the future contemplating. I enjoyed the story and how the author left the answer unanswered for the book future. We know the truth about things unseen.

Lawfully Covert: Inspirational Christian Historical by The Lawkeepers, Jenna Brandt

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is excellent. Set in the Regency era, Spies were known throughout the Napoleon War and beyond. The thing that became obvious that women made excellent spies for ferreting out gossip. In this case, the spymaster used a woman of well made connections to find the English traitors. Lady Josephine is intriguing and more than Charles can handle. This is where the story becomes very interesting, and that Charles thinks he has control of Lady Josephine. It's an enjoyable read from start to finish.

Fake Fiancee's Secret Baby by Lara Swann

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story starts out as a lot of fun, but quickly gets out of control. I love the banter between these two, and Jackson also realizes things have gotten too real. How everything comes together is a miracle of a good promo agent. And how this all ends, depends if the love they share can actually be their reality. This story has a lot of twists and turns, but actually adds to the value of the story.

Raiden: House of Storms (Dragon Guardians #7) by Scarlett Grove

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a story of two people who deny what is between them, only seeking friendship. They lie to themselves and to each other holding back what could be a great relationship. The fact that they are friends already will ensure the relationship. Both are so dedicated to their jobs, their instincts have been muted for the greater good, until their is a break in their lives. I liked the way this story developed and always enjoy a good friends to lovers story.

Operating on a Hunch (The Board Game Murders #2) by Jane Wallace

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
This is really a farce of a cozy mystery. The characters all have that definite lovability and the idea for the plot is good. Somehow something was lost in the storytelling, but filtered out at the end. The worst part is the ending, excusing murder. I liked the idea but the story didn't quite it the mark.

Enchanted by Her Rebellious Spirit by Carol Colyer

Rating:  ⭐⭐
This story took me a long to read and I was not enchanted by either the heroine or the hero. Sometimes there is something about being too rebellious that begins to be too much, and times when standing your ground is not in your best interest. The problem with this story is someone should have sat her down and told her what was going instead of trying to keep her innocent. With the right information, this girl would have made the right decisions and tried to make the marriage work. Instead, we have one messed up relationship, and a woman where she should be, because she is headstrong and doesn't listen to anyone, because she is ignorant of the situation. I really wasn't impressed with this story.

Ravished By The Iron Highlander by Maddie MacKenna

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Isabella is being punished for not marrying a man thrice her age by her brother. A highland warrior is injured and her aunt and Isabella take him. When her brother comes for her, the highlander takes her home with him. Isabella and Duncan fall in love, but their is someone trying to kill the clan of Goreidh. This story has an excellent plot and keeps the suspense going to the very end. Love is durable, but sometimes it comes with a cost.

The Sheriff’s Tender-Hearted Bride: A Christian Historical Romance Novel by Chloe Carley

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story starts out with two unlikely people. One disappointed in her marriage and the other turning to the law after being raised by an outlaw. The tenderness show by parties will touch your heart. The one thing I wish is that Aline really did pay attention to Sammy's feeling about the people around her. Cat's are particular who they like. It has a lot to do with it's owner personality and the cat's perception if a person will hurt them. I pay a lot of attention to my daughter's cat of who he likes and doesn't. It's a great indicator of the person she is dating.

In Search of Love (Convenient Arrangements #2) by Rose Pearson

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I enjoyed this story of cat & mouse. I'm glad Juliana played her husband, because she caught and taught him a lesson. You can love your own wife. It served him right, for compromising her, not looking at her at the wedding and sending her straight to his country estate. When Juliana returned to London, he didn't even recognize her, and danced attendance on her.

One Daisy and Two Crazy Funerals Fern Grove Cozy Mystery, Book 2 By: Abby Reede Narrated by: Jeannette Smith

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is slightly insane. The characters are delightful, but the insanity of mixing two funerals flowers than finding another dead body at the funeral is just two much insanity. Although our flower shop girls seem to take it all in stride. This story is funny and brighten my day.

Bride for the Sake of Duty by Bridget Barton

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
This story is a sad tale of a woman being forced to marry a man she didn't really know. The man takes off right after the wedding for India to work for the East India Company. He returns home to find a rigid woman and nothing he does pleases her. My heart aches for Eleanor, because she is left alone in an empty house and a father-in-law who visits. Miles, not only comes home, but brings an Indian friend with him disturbing not only the welcome home party for him, but he goes straight to his room and doesn't engage the party. I find Miles totally arrogant and should be kicked between his legs for the way he treated Eleanor for the first two years of their marriage. Eventually, circumstance lead the two together, but it still does not make up for his behavior, and Miles makes no apology for it either.

Grey Daze: A Lance Underphal Mystery by Michael Allan Scott

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a very down and gritty novel. The description of Uncle's Harold's house gave me the heeby-jeebies. I always found having an active imagination to be a blessing. With this story, I found it to be a curse. I get Lance, and if the author stays with the relationship. Callie will be the one bright light that Lance can hold onto to keep him grounded. The story is action-packed and the author keeps a wonderful timeline. These stories for me should be kept spaced apart.

The Billionaire's Secret The Billionaire Club, Book 1 By: Johanna Evelyn Narrated by: Nancy Peterson

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story shines how one can escape their abusive ex. Gabe shines a light on her otherwise dark and terrified heart. I love how patient Gabe is with her and how he helps her when he finds out the truth. This story is heart breaking, yet it gives hope to those who are trapped that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

A Loving Duke For The Shy Duchess by Abby Ayles

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is what happens to the sister "Lucille" from the story "Melting a Duke's Winter Heart". It seem Lucille accepts an arrange marriage with Duke Crowan to get out of her father's house. She spends months avoiding her husband out of fear of his reputation. One night after a dinner gone wrong, neither of them can sleep. Reginald finds his wife in the library. She asks him what's wrong and he lays his head in her lap. She allows him this and it changes something in her. From there Reginald and her begin to build a friendship based on respect. What Reginald has unleashed is a veritable tiger. This story continues months after where Sarah's story ends, but we find that Lucille is actually more courageous than her sister, Sarah. Sometimes all a person really needs is the freedom to be themselves.

One Plus Two A Maple Glen Romance, Book 6 By: Christina Butrum Narrated by: Lorana Hoopes

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rating: I love the characters and the plot line in this story. Hannah & Carter are great and the Mitchell family is wonderful. I believe this is the first book in the series I have read. The narrator knows how to tell the story and brings the characters to life. The only thing I found confusing was the timeline. Who takes a month to fix a car? and how could Hannah even afford to stay a bed & breakfast for a month? Although the developing relationship was sweet, the pain that Hannah expressed to Carter during the reveal brought tears to my eyes.

Murder and Salt Water Taffy By: Kayla Michelle, K.M. Morgan Narrated by: Stephanie Quinn

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is a lot of fun like the other in the series. The truth is the detective never listens to Chloe and he is always wrong. The author makes it difficult to figure out our murderer, but always injects it with some witty banner and stupid mistakes. Someday, just might get Chloe killed.

Merging with the Billionaire Billionaires of Manhattan, Book 3 By: Jenna Brandt Narrated by: Liz Krane

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this story. Two business people working themselves to have the respect as businessmen. One held back because she is a woman, and the other because he came from nothing. In the end, we find Conrad does have a heart and finds his anathema for the Boswells becomes love for their daughter. The narrator was very good and knew how to express each character.

The Still Small Voice By: Lorana Hoopes Narrated by: Lorana Hoopes

I did not like this story. It really started to get weird. Seeing white lights and angels actually revealing themselves as angels. This sets up a dangerous precedence and should be delegated to Christian Fantasy like the Left Behind series. A series where what a glimpse of the future could be. I came into this series with the notion that this was a Christian Romance. It is definitely not that. I was actually offended at some parts of this story, because some of the things are definitely not biblical. This story was a complete disappointment because I normally love Lorana Hoopes story. This one is a failure in my eyes.
