Not Quite a Lady; Not Quite a Knight (The Nettlefold Chronicles #8) by Isabella Thorne

This is a fun little tale with a bunch of little twist. The characters are engaging and not what they initially seem on the outside. I got a kick how everything was plotted out by the Uncle and two people fell in love. You'll like this romance, it is fun and quirky.

The Perfect Gift (Three Wise Men #1) by Serenity Woods

This story begins on the internet, where Brock meets this single mom whose kid has asthma. They develop a repertoire and start chatting in a private forum. He wants more and they find a way to meet face to face. After meeting, Brock knows that he wants more, and decides to give Erin time away from being a mother and takes her away for Christmas to an exclusive hotel. She accepts and finds that Brock is everything she ever dreamed a man could be.  This story makes you believe that second chances are possible.

Her Fake-Fiance Cowboy Protector (Brothers of Miller Ranch #4) by Natalie Dean

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story has a wonderful plot and a real kind of hero. The problem is our heroine who has been abused, and is fleeing her ex-husband. She loves that Brandon wants to protect her, but she doesn't want any harm to come to him. The problem is that she can't trust any man and won't allow Brandon to protect her. Love comes in many forms, but without trust a relationship cannot and will not stand. The author doesn't really allow for that in this story.

A Cowboy and his Neighbor: A Johnson Brothers Novel (Chestnut Ranch Cowboy Billionaire Romance Book 1) by Emmy Eugene

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a cute story about best friends becoming lovers. I believe true friendship will develop into a purer kind of love. Jenna and Seth have that kind of chemistry. They don't act on it, but feed their friendship, until it becomes more. I like Jenna and Seth, but Seth seems a little too goody two shoes for a real man. I liked the story line and plot. It's just a matter of being open to new possibilities.

The Escape Series (Books 1 -3): Getting Lei'd, Cruising for Love, and Island Hopping by Ann Omasta

These three books are humorous and a lot of fun. Get caught up with Roxy, Ruthie & Lizzie for fun and adventure on the beach. Oh, Roxy's & Ruthie's grandmother is a kick and you never know what she is going to do. Three romantic comedies to kick back with and relax on the beach.

The Secret Path to a Lady's Heart: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Abigail Agar

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A woman lost to the fate her parents have deemed for tries to find some happiness in her now marriage to Matthew. Matthew had to hide the scandal of his brother's life and try to gain Lady Eleanor as a wife to save his family. The two of them finally decide to make what was to happen to be for good. In that acceptance, they find themselves falling in love with each other. This story has a lot of intrigue and hidden secrets. I enjoyed this story.

Copper Peaks Brides: Historical Western Romance Collection (Copper Peak Brides #1-4) by Ruby Hill

Etta's Secret
This story is intriguing and consists of various twists and turns. What is unbelievable is that Rueben would allow Etta to come along along on a manhunt. This definitely would not have happened in this era of history. This story starts out intriguing with a slightly boring center while the plot builds, but the climax is quite exciting.

Jessie's Regret
This story starts off slow, but quickly get going. This story has many twists, and the blackmail is a little shady in the telling. This story has an exciting climax.

Ruth's Revelation
This story will break your heart, until Ruth decides not to be a doormat.  It has an intrigue mystery but the story loses something in the middle.

 Amber's Promise
This story has a whimsical tone to it, but I think Amber should have been shot. It's not right to force someone into something that they actually did not agree to. Although, we find out how Henry's signature got on the contract. Henry should have been angry to have been bamboozled that way. Instead, oh I'm in love with Amber so I just forgive all this crazy illegal going ons. Sorry not so real.

Lastly, the last three books were written for expressly this book collection. The only real book is Etta's Secret and you can buy that one separately. Of course the best story is Etta's Secret, that only goes to prove because you cannot find the other three stories on Amazon.

In An Instant by Suzanne Redfearn

I did not like this story at all. I found myself drifting off to sleep, so I used it to read before I went to bed. I felt disconnected from the characters like I was outside looking in and feeling completely separated from the story. I never felt the emotional connection with the book that is advertised.

Charmed by Gracious Lords: A Historical Regency Romance Collection by Aria Norton

From Prejudice to Love
This is a well written story with a fairy tale ending. Of course, the Earl is fascinated by Molly, because of her unconventional methods of teaching. Her ways have brought his wards out of their grief and she seems to have done the same thing for him. The story has modern day PC attributes that would not be attributed to in the 1800's. The Irish were reviled by English and Americans alike. The nobility at that time would have never accepted her. She would forever remain in the country with his children. He would probably be removed from the House of the Lords if he was a member. The story is well written, except for the modern attitudes that the story incorporates.

The Secret Diary of a Magnificent Lady
This story tries to be whimsical with it's twisted plot, but it fails. Instead we get a woman who finds herself upset that her Henry is engaged, but confused, because all of a sudden Henry is paying her an extreme amount of attention. She starts to think Henry is a rogue. This gets the story of her love for Henry (her diary) to take a walk into Henry's hands. This becomes very serious even as the author tries to make light of a heartbreaking situation. The author makes light of Matilda's humiliation and does not really address it. The plot works and the ending practically writes itself, but the humiliation of the private thoughts of someone should never be made light.

Risking it All for a Lady's Heart
Although, this tale is quite romantic; it's plot sounds impossible at times. The possibilities of a lowly maid becoming a duchess under the circumstances as described are impossible. Although the duke blames Frederica for Nash's injury, and even if he loved the service of her parents, he would have done something before they died to get rid of her. It could have been another position or sent to school to be a governess to get her away from his household. After they died, he could have really destroyed her. He was far too generous in allowing her to stay in her parents cottage as long as he did. Like all men, Nash is really stupid about providing for her in France. If he had a job that allowed him to travel back to England, he could have well afforded to come to England and propose to Frederica and take her back to France with him. She could have worked if need be in France and it's not as if she is use to a life of comfort anyway. I didn't mean to tear this plot apart, but I thought of possibilities far more as I read this story than actually enjoying the story itself.

The Exception of an Earl (The Valiant Love Regency Romance) (A Historical Romance Book) by Deborah Wilson

This story has a lighter tone than the last couple before it. I love Camilla and Husher together. Although Husher feels he missed out on the love of his life, he finds Camilla intriguing and Camilla is using him to write her books. Together, they seem to grow, but Husher has secrets he's trying to hide from Camilla. This story is great in the fact that Camilla is a very open person and Husher can't control his mouth around her. This story has a much brighter theme.

The Long Awaited Lord (The Valiant Love Regency Romance) (A Historical Romance Book) by Deborah Wilson

This story like all the stories in the series is excellent. Lord Leonard Childs is intriguing and finding out his story makes me understand what drives him and why he can't settle down. Madison intrigues Leonard so much that he finds Madison helps him come to an understanding of himself, and love can heal even the most broken among us.

Healed by Grace (The Civil War Brides Book 3) by Jenna Brandt

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Healed by Grace" brings two broken souls from the Civil War and reunites them in another town. The fact is as they fall in love with each other, they start to heal from the war. Each seeks help in a different way, and Wyatt begins to understand the horror of what Grace has endured, when her nightmare returns to claim her. Unfortunately, the author fails to understand the true horror of a stalker, or the mental issues that prevail, because a lot of that is glossed over to bring the two lovers back together. Still, the story is good and loves prevails.

A Lady's Mysterious Origin: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Bridget Barton

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I liked this story. Although, this woman was a companion, she had a mystery about where she came from. So to help Johanna out, Leonard decides to find out for her, thinking she might be grateful to him for doing so. Leonard doesn't share his parents ideal of what his wife should be. He only knows that he loves Joanna. What a surprise he has in store for him when he finds out her past. Joanna is too meek for me to really like, but Leonard is a strong and vivacious character. I get that he wants to please his parents, but he also wants to choose who he lives with for the rest of his life.

Under a Highlander's Spell by Maddie MacKenna

Can I say that this story did not take off well. I was patient with the story, and it paid off. This is not your typical highlander story, and some of the plot seems like it is going no where. Just when I decide I had enough, the story takes a major turn and goes in a new direction. I find that the hero takes on different personalities, but in the end is true to himself. I have a hard time with two eyes meeting and falling in love. Neither was free to pursue each other, and Naomham steals Theodora away from her family back into the Highlands, even though their is a price on his head. This story gets intense in this part of the story and this is where the story gets good. I have some simple moral questions with the story, but I understand what Theodora is going through.
