Operation Wolf: Gunner (Wolf Elite #1) by Sedona Venez

This is an interesting concept for a shifter world. It amazes me that these shifters are living in major cities with heighten senses. The noise of the city would be very loud and all the people talking at one time. The author does distinguish between hybrid and pureblood, and how mates are chosen. All I have to do is go around and have sex with every male and when I see flashing lights and have the best sex ever, I have found my mate. Seriously, this is just a license for bad choices and one night stands. As for the couple, I expected no less of a soldier protecting a woman, especially one whom he is attracted to and now bound to by their one night stand. Juliette like all women, realize they can't live with the logical choice and decides to fight back, because let's face it, who wants to be stuck married to someone who makes us nauseous when they touch you. I'm routing for Gunner!

A Wolf's Love (Wolf Mountain Peak #5) by Sarah J. Stone

As I started to read this, I thought what kind of love story is this? It's a about familiar love and all that goes into it. I kept wondering where it was going and how were we going to get there. Some parts actually made my jaw drop and my thought was she just killed off two characters with one stone. There is an evil that the Helena and Raul have not considered and the endlessly way that the author got to the point made me considering putting it down until the jaw dropper. The rest of the book will entertain you and keep you in your seat until the end. Good Luck.

I received an Advanced Copy and this is my honest review.

Fifth Generation Cowboy (Three Rivers Ranch #4) by Liz Isaacson

I love these stories about Three Rivers Ranch. Every story reflects difficulties that couples face and learn to overcome through their faith. Rose and Tom are no different. Rose is divorced and raising a daughter with autism. Tom is a cowboy who Mari likes immediately and works at a business called Courage Reins that is therapeutic horse ranch. Toms has his own fears and it takes a lot for him to extend himself. Which he does, because he likes Rose and she needs a friend. What develops from that friendship will be test, but what couple hasn't faced that test.  Liz Isaacson brings heart and hope to her characters and her readers.

Convenient Lies (Hidden Truth Book 1) Kindle Edition by Robin Patchen

This is a scary scenario and I loved the book. I wasn't sure how the author was going to wrap it up and there is a surprise to how it ends. I give my approval. So if you love suspense, drama and sudden twists and their are several of them, you are going to enjoy this book.

The Pendleton Secret by Agnes Forest

This was a strange love story, but it captured my attention. A secretary in this day an age would not be worth Catherine Pendleton's time. But it seems that Catherine has led a very sheltered life. Her father arranges a marriage to pay off a debt, but the secretary of the man brings his fears to Catherine because he is in love with her. It captured my attention, because I wasn't sure how the author was going come out of this one. The story is slow going at first, but pick up as we get to the climax. Lloyd flouted the rules of etiquette, but he was desperate to help Catherine from marrying Baron Bouchard.

Her Father's Protector: A Highlander Tale (Highland Valiance Series Book 3) by Fiona McKellar

This is a good love story with a heart wrenching twist, but this kind of love is fated. The only thing I didn't like about the book was the conclusion. It was confusing and the author should possibly re-write it.

This book is an Advance Reader Copy and this is my honest review.

Winning the Merchant Earl: Sweet and Clean Regency Romance (His Majesty's Hounds) (Volume 8) by Arietta Richmond

It seems these two get themselves in their own way. Interesting characters for them to get together with that streak of stupidity. I did enjoy the story and how the characters coped differently when they were away from each other. The height of climax fell in the middle of the book, however, but it continued on to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. One point however, the author used the Prince Regent unabashedly. 😇😇😇

The Transformation of Anna (Cornerstone Deep #1) by Charlene A. Wilson

This is not my usual type of reading, but the title intrigued me and it is the Halloween season. This not a horror story, but a story of soul reaching love. It is set in a world like our own in another dimension. The three brothers who are sentinels in this world from the center dimension guard the portal and help the Lords of this world keep order. Every soul has a rebirth, this is where Anna comes into the Sentinel Cole's life. She is his soul mate from a previous life, only Cole doesn't realize it until he captures Anna breaking the law. This is where our story begins, and the Sentinel's learn the truth of what Lord Dressen has done. The story will captivate you, once you figure this world out. This took me about ten chapters. It's worth the read for a spooky story, but you are not into horror.

I received this as an Advanced Reader Copy and this is my honest review.

Returning for Love: SWEET Western Romance Novel (SWEET Long Valley - Book 4) by Erin Wright

I've met Declan before. I mean a charming man who hiding behind a secret. He's good at it and know how to divert you from the truth. Iris is the servant type of personality and  what has happened to her is hard for her to ask anyone for help. She should be the one helping. These two have wasted a lot of years over stupidity, when they should have been turning to each other. The author does justice to this love story and gives the couple time to come to terms with this re-developing relationship. It made me angry with them for wasting so much time, but joyous that they had developed enough maturity to create a deeper relationship with each other. You'll love to know how they overcome these obstacles. I couldn't put the book down until I finished it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Let There Be Love (Sled Dog #1) by Melissa Storm

I loved this story. Who knew re-creating your life can bring you love, especially to Mr. Grump? Her love healed his hurts, showed him how to go on, and her love gave unconditionally. He loved her, because of these things, but initially did not know how to show her. There were times I was angry, sometimes filled with joy. Sometimes I cried and even despaired, but I was with Lauren every step of the way.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and this is my honest review.

Jaize (Verian Mates) (A Sci Fi Alien Abduction Romance) Kindle Edition by Stella Sky

It's unbelievable how selfish these creatures are, and the heroine who has to put up with this abuse. I find the heroine too compassionate, especially in a time of war. Of course, this is why she was captured. These aliens are teachable, because they learn to love the human woman they have captured. It's no wonder their world is dying, because they can't see pass themselves. I did not have any respect for Jaize or his wife, because of their inherent selfishness. They had no respect for each other or the institution of marriage. This book tells us what the culture of the Verians are and from where I am sitting. They can go extinct. This book only enforced my belief that the humans were justified in creating a virus that destroys the men of Verian.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader copy and this is my honest review.

Someday Her Duke Will Come (Happily Ever After Book 2) by Ellie St. Clair

Rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is a good little story, but it breaks all the rules of a Regency romance. Maybe, it would be possible in some other dimension, but for the Regency era, this is just a fairy tale. I like fairy tales and dreams of middle class women becoming aristocrats or princesses. They are made to help girls look for a high quality man and not just take the first man who asks. This being said, the two households were just plain strange and the middle class should have took on the look of the Puritan form of living.  They had much higher standards than the aristocrats. The things that Alexander and Tillie did were beyond appropriate for the differences in classes. But like I said, it's a good little fairy tale.

The Lady and the Mountain Man (Mountain Dreams #1) by Misty M. Beller

I really enjoyed this kind of mail order bride story. Leah is an heiress and she runs away from her fiancée whom she overhears plotting to kill her after the wedding. I found Leah to be a true pioneer. She took everything that came her way and tried to make the best of it. She even learned to love a grumpy and grizzly man. Gideon refused to open his heart and caused most of the trouble that happened. She never lied to Gideon about what she done or tried to hide who she was. She developed a deep relationship with his sister and brought a light into the girls life. Good storyline and plot, author brought the story and the climax to a good conclusion.

The Case of The Hated Body (The Sleepless Detective Murder Mystery #1) by Carrie Marsh

This was a quirky little murder mystery. I personally don't get a perspective of who the assistant or the Inspector really are. The Climax was disappointing and if this is going to be a series, the character will have to be better developed. Reading the story, I never really felt apart of it, and at points I felt like I was reading a case file, third person and impersonal. The storyline and plot were excellent, but the author did not quite pull it off. One big question, though, why was the body hated?

A Death in the Family (The Larch Dectective Agency, #1) by Maggie Mundy

This book was well-written and kept you in suspense to the very end. On top of the suspense story, the author takes time to develop characters with rich backgrounds and an intense romance. They say love is blind, but the author and I know differently. It seeing the soul of the person. This is an ARC book and my review can only be found on Goodreads because it is not for sale. Another one of those perks for being an ARC reviewer.

Hans (The Clan Legacy) by J. S. Striker

I didn`t like this book. The character are too shallow and I found them hard to like. I could care less if the two characters should get together. Both characters are selfish, stubborn and have their own agenda`s. Loyalty and love are not in these two`s makeup. They probably deserve one another. There was really no chemistry developing between the characters and it showed in the author`s writing. The author just pushed these two together so all we get is sex scenes, no romance, no love. I could buy porn and do just as well. This story was a fail and the characters that the author chose murdered it.

An Earl’s Agreement: Hearts and Ever Afters by Joyce Alec

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this little farce. For the earl, It was probably the thought of this girl being given away. For Lucy, it was her salvation. Together, they found more. This book is well-written and I loved the interaction between the two main characters. It is a sweet treat.

Ribbons of Death by Edita A. Petrick

This is a really good thriller. It kept me coming back and wanting to know what was going to happen next. The character development and the pull between these two characters is extraordinary and I was with them all the way. The author takes in the mindset of our law enforcement agencies and develops a riveting story.

Bethany's Love: A Tale of a Widow's Hope (Bethany's Love #1)

I enjoyed this story, even though at times the dialogue was a little stiff. It felt as if a high school student had written this at times. The storyline and plot followed through with an exciting climax. I was able to identify with Bethany the whole way through the book, and unlike most mail order bride books, I was able to get a grasp of the hero and his emotions. This makes for much better reading and a more fulfilling story.

Clawed (Were-Soldier Warriors Book 1) by Kym Dillon

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's amazing what we feel when we are alone and in danger, Jessica learned to trust and depend on Marcus. Yes, she loves him. He protected her and cared for her out in the jungle. Can they continue this romance with them being so different?  I question that and the author is going to have to work in the rest of the series to convince me that this is true love. This shifter world that the author has created is really dangerous and one that I don't believe Jessica can survive in. The characters are well developed and I believe the author can make something of this world she has created.

Billionaire Bear's Bride (Kodiak Island Shifters, #1) by Candace Ayers

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
This was a quaint story. I'm not actually sure how the shifter world works here, but it seems wolves and bears don't get along. The character are developed well, but not deeply because this is a short story. Some parts are confusing, and Hannah for being a Doctor is totally obvious at points in this story. Overall, the story does not disappoint and you are left with that romantic happy feeling.

Untold Stories by Kit Morgan, Vivi Holt, Annie Boone, Kari Trumbo

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is an anthology that can only be found on BookFunnel. Each story is well written and great for an afternoon read. I like all of the stories, but my favorite one was by Vivi Holt. Not one of the stories will you be disappointed in. I hope the authors let me know when it goes on Goodreads or Amazon so I can review it.

Ari (To Each His Ghost) by S.M. Boyce

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
This book is normally out of my genre, although I do like a good gothic novel every once in awhile. This book is directly in the horror novel genre which is why I gave up Stephen King and won't even go to his movies anymore. I don't even want to know what makes that man tick. This book gave me a few nightmares and though it is well written, I had to put the book down several times to gain my equilibrium. I hate demons, ghosts are okay, but demons are just bad news and I think authors should stay away from them. It's like inviting them into bed with you, yuck! I won't be reading anymore in this series. I don't like being invited into a author's darkness. I'll stay out in the light.

A Candlelight Courting: A Short Christmas Romance by Joyce DiPastena

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This short story held me riveted till the end. The author did an excellent job of softening a woman's heart towards marriage. A man who truly loves her and will give her true hearts desire. A well written short story that opens the heart.

The Preacher and the Pariah: A Western Historical Mail Order Bride Romance (The Family Affair Series Book 2) by Emma Harper

The story was good but the accompanying stories were poorly done. This story worth the read. Unfortunately the cover is wrong for this title.

Imp (Imp 0.5) by Debra Dunbar

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
I read this about 2 months ago. I don't like books like this, but it was an interesting take on demons. My taste is that there is no good demon and the author is trying to make out that Az the Imp is the heroine. The storyline is good and the plot has potential for a good series. This is just not in my tastes.

I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and this is my honest opinion.

Embellish: Brave Little Tailor Retold (Romance a Medieval Fairytale #7) by Demelza Carlton

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
For a shoemaker trying to be a knight, George is a progressive male. Melitta is a modern day woman, she wants career and marriage and all that goes with it. They are the perfect pair, and they deserve each other. Although the dialog was a little stilted at times, the things they did together were just too funny. One word to George, do not ever think of another woman or cheat on her. Mind-reading is a dangerous thing!

Defiant Love (the Triumphant Hearts Series, Book 1) by Judith E French

This is an in depth story, and the characters are well developed and the story well written. I identified with the hero, more than the heroine. The stubbornness of the heroine was overdone, and the hero gave up more of himself for her love. I felt at times, that the heroine was using him. Although, I didn't like the heroine as well as I usually do. I am rating this a five because of the beauty and well written story.

Northern Kingdom Book 1: Lost and Found (Volume 1) by K.T. Harding

Let's start with the good, the plot and storyline were well thought out. However the dialogue came off as stilted when it came to the hero, making him seem like he was 3 years old or an imbecile. The other characters did not have that type of dialogue. Mia's character for a heroine had a lot to be desired. I would have preferred this book to be about Jean or Cameron, maybe they would have been a better choice, because they seemed more decent. Who knows, because the author did not do a very good job of developing these characters. It's three-quarters into the book, before Mia gets a spine and some morality. This heroine is weak, weak, weak. As for the hero, what can you say about an imbecile? The worse part is that these two are eventually going to be King and Queen of the Renx. I feel real sorry for the Renx. Let's face it, this book is not about love, or romance, so I am going to classify it erotica.
