Captivated by Her True Heart: A Historical Western Romance Book by Mia Dunham

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story takes on a gothic approach and leaves a mystery as to what happened. I find timid women as heroines leave me wondering what kind of intelligence they really have. The author left me wondering, but even when Florrie recognized the danger she was in from the next door neighbor, she failed to protect herself. The storyline is well written, but I found the characters clueless. The neighbor was totally obvious. I liked the gothic aspect to the story.

The Last Assignment by Douglas Drow

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is a back story to the anthology "Make Them Pay". It's the story of how Stevens and Rupert stayed together on Stevens last assignment. The story is intense and stays that way because it is a short story. It is well written. This story can only be obtained by subscribing to Douglas Dorow's newsletter. Protecting the Lady of the Highlands: A Steamy Scottish Historical Romance Novel by Maddie MacKenna

Rating: ⭐⭐
This story is faulty from the get go. I almost stopped reading this book when the council voted Ivy the Lady instead of a new Laird. I wanted to see where the author was going with this story line. Actually, it only got worse and then she chooses an Englishman for her chatelaine. Although the characters are wonderful and the villain is perfectly insane, the actual story loses a lot with the decisions that the council makes. The climax was probable the best thing about the story, but I was completely ready to stop reading about two page after that because the epilogue drones on.

An Innocent Change of Heart: A Historical Western Romance Book by Lorelei Brogan

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This started out as a beautiful and romantic story. The developing relationship between Helen and Jon is very well developed. Both Helen and Jon are very naive and can't see past their nose or why anyone would want to hurt Helen. Helen suspects the correct person but can't imagining them doing such a thing. The story is well written up to the climax, but the ending is too fairy tale and the villain does not get justice for their bad behavior and I felt a little let down.

The Rake Is Taken League of Lords, Book 2 By: Tracy Sumner Narrated by: Kimberly M. Wetherell Series: League of Lords, Book 2

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a very romantic story. Friendship stars prominently in this relationship. It's what makes this story romantic. They both desire what is best for the other and are willing to do anything for the betterment of the other. Fortunately, their friends inside the League see what is going on and act so these two don't make the worse mistake of the their lives.

The Transformation of the Bashful Lady by Fanny Finch

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In the case of Sarah, it's watching innocence bloom that causes the Marquess to open his heart. The twists in this story are unexpected, but I think some people listen to too much gossip. Sarah and Andrew are wonderful characters and engage you in their lives. The climax could have been more exciting, but the story is worth reading.
