Going Hearts over Heels: My Country Heart, Book 3 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Rachelle Ayala (Author), Tor Thom (Narrator), Charley Ongel (Narrator), & 1 more

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is fun romantic mix-up of two people who are already enamored of each other just trying to be friends. This story is an example of being yourself and not listening to your friends advice about how to grab a man's attention. The problem here is she already had it. I enjoyed the range of male voices and feminine ones with having two narrators.

A Pet for Christmas: A Veteran's Christmas, Book 2 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Rachelle Ayala (Author), Elizabeth Klett (Narrator), LLC Rachelle Ayala Publishing (Publisher)

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is an excellent story of a woman who takes a chance on a man who has PTSD. Although their relationship is working as a family, Tyler seems to be spending more and more time in Afghanistan. Tyler's torment is acute, but when the center in Afghanistan is blown up and taken by the Taliban, his PTSD becomes minor in the fact he is trying to stay alive. Kelly and Bree want him to come home, but Kelly has to hide the fact from her family that Tyler has been captured. The narrator for this story is emotional and her voice captures the heart of what the character is feeling.

Sally: Stowaway Mail Order Bride: Mail Order Bride Romance (Brides of Dalton Book 5) by Bethany Rose

I've never read a love story from a third person. This story is written from the eldest son's point of view. As far as Sally or Johnny is concerned, I'm not sure I really know anything about them or have some connection to them. Johnny, I have some because the author would slip into Johnny's point of view two or three times, but I still left with a mystery of who Sally really is.

The Secret to the Ladies' Hearts: A Clean & Sweet Regency Historical Romance Collection (The Regency Soulmates Series Book 1) by Abby Ayles

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
These stories about three ladies in society who know each other, but are very different in character and disposition. Each has their own story and how they help each other. The best story is the "The Lady Patient". She is the strongest character and the Earl she marries is a child, not physically. Our weakest character is Lucy, and she is childlike and does not know her mind. She is petulant and her behavior in Society is much to be desired. Personally, the Lord she marries is as ridiculous as she is childish. And finally Antoinette who knows what she wants, but is she willing to marry a man without a title. The answer is no.

First Shift (Bears in Blue Book 0) by Mia Taylor

The story hierarchy is confusing and the characters are not worth reading about. By the time this story was done, I was wishing these bear shifters dead.

Sold To A Dragon (Dragon Shifter Island) by Maia Starr

This story is more of I'll rescue the girl and see if she'll have me. The author's version of stupid is written all over this story, especially the girl. This dragon world doesn't fall in with the author's previous dragon stories an is difficult to understand, especially since I have read other dragon shifter stories by this author.

A Lonely Christmas Bride for the Solitary Miner (The Twelve Mail Order Brides of Christmas) by Emma Morgan

This a warm and tender tale of woman trying to adapt to a life that is rather solitary and lonely. Her husband does not initially help because he is not sure of how to help her and goes about his day as if she is not there. Tristan's mother is a work of disparity and whatever anger lays in her heart needs love. The only problem with this story is that it doesn't deal with Tristan's mother's anger.

Tempting His Mistress by Samantha Holt

I loved this story, but I found Lord Hawksley arrogant and full of himself. He never really thought beyond his self in regards to Lilly. His secret side was helping women escape their brutal husbands. He may never be brutal to Lilly, but making her his mistress is a brutality that most men cannot perceive until they fall in love.

Falling for Miss Write by Joanne Dannon

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one is a winner. Felix and Charlotte are well-written and both are wonderful characters. Both have a dark history, but with love these two will overcome the past. Unfortunately, the author doesn't understand a true woman of faith, and although Charlotte believed. She didn't live her faith, and pursuing someone who doesn't have faith usually ends up with the person of faith leaving the church. Although this didn't happen, I didn't see Felix making a relationship with God either.

Shoot for the Stars (Pop Stars Romantic Comedy Book 4) by Rachael Eliker

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
To be honest, this is the first book I've read in this series. I understood right off that Vanessa is a born diva. Even I could see what Candy was; so what was wrong with Harrison. If he's that blind and dumb, maybe Vanessa should find someone with a little more brains. As far as I can see, Harrison is only good for clothing mishaps and designing. Outside of that I found him flat and a typical hormonal nerd. Otherwise, the story and comedy came off beautifully.

White Lies by Kayley Cole

Rating:  ⭐⭐
Although this story is well written, I hated the hero and wished Hannah would make smarter choices for herself. I understood why Brian wanted revenge on Isaac, but I cannot like or love someone who is without morals or honorable character. The two things that Brian lacks, and he brings Hannah into his world in a word corrupting her. Love is supposed to make us better, but this only continues the web of lies.

Mark of The Marquess (The Valiant Love Regency Romance) (A Historical Romance Book) by Deborah Wilson

This is one excellent story from beginning to end. The characters are well developed and lovable. This story contains a whole range of emotions and the pain of dealing with self image and reassessment of character. I adored Kim and James and Kim's sneaky aunt. Each book in this series has not missed the mark.

The Lost Love of a Stunning Lady: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Bridget Barton

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
This love story is a tragedy. The tragedy is Mimi's mother. The woman is a walking and talking tragedy. What she does to her daughter is criminal and only in the best interest of herself. I don't know if I could have ever forgiven her for the things she put Mimi through. My character would have axed murdered her or thrown all pride away and begged Richard to take me away on the promise he made Mimi. I felt horrified for Mimi about 75% of the book and the other 25% hoping Richard would stop feeling sorry for himself. There are villains and there are monsters. The Duke of Hertford fell into the later. Although this book has an HEA, this story spent more time on the evil that was Mimi's mother than the actual relationship of Mimi & Richard.

A Bride for the Viscount's Cold Son: A Historical Regency Romance by Audrey Ashwood

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved our heroine. Our hero had a lot to learn before he was worthy of marrying Lavinia. I couldn't believe how rude and disrespectful he was towards her. They could have stopped the Viscount from forcing the marriage, if they just talked out things before the wedding fiasco. I know war changes a man and this was a good thing for George, because it made him a better person. I thoroughly enjoyed this story

House of Catesby - The Complete Collection (Books 1-7) by Sunny Brooks

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've read this series and reviewed each book, except number 7 which is the story about the Dowager Catesby. I was slightly disappointed in the story and the characters. I expected Martha to be a stronger character and the man she fell in love with to be of better character. Every other story is a delightful tale as each sibling falls in love.

Ashton Drake (Aurum Court Dragons #1) by Emilia Hartley

Ashton Drake as a young man needed to have his head beaten. He was such a jerk and just left  his mate who loved him behind. No word, no contact and he wonders why his dragon is insane. He's lucky is this story, and it makes you wonder what is going on with all the other dragons in this clan, or are they all just insane or stupid?

Her Prodigal Cowboy: A Historical Romance Novel by Chloe Carley

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a new look at the story of the Prodigal Son set in the late 1800's when the train connected both sides of country together. The younger son takes his inheritance and goes West to make his way as a homesteader. Walter the older brother does everything to keep Arthur and the woman both boys have been vying for attention from since they were young.  I was awed and inspired by the author's attention to the older brother's heart.  It was one that didn't recognize what love really consists of and considered anything or anyone he wanted a prize or possession. The younger's heart knew love and though his sins were many; he found redemption even through failure, because he knew he couldn't go it alone. This story touches the heart, mind and soul.

The Sheriff Who Stole Her Aching Heart: A Historical Western Romance Book by Lorelei Brogan

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a serious and deep story about two childhood friends. Their back story is not a happy one, but their love for each other is deeper than they realize. Neither one ends up happy with the mate that they chose. The West can be a dark and dangerous place, and revenge seems to be in the air. The emotional impact wasn't as great as I thought it could be, and Carson seemed lost in his guilt and pain, instead of being the sheriff he promised himself he wanted to be. I loved Alina; she was so torn by duty and what she truly wanted from life. Even so, she is a strong woman with a strong character, understanding life doesn't always turn out the way you want, but living with what you have the best you can.

Watching Willow (The Gold Coast Retrievers #7) by Ann Omasta

Buddy may not be a puppy but he will not let you down. Who says just because you are a little old; you are not set for stardom? Buddy is a natural matchmaker and talk show host, "Willow Winks" has just been demoted to game show host. Can Buddy help revive her career and will all of Buddy's matchmaking include Willow? Even with the suspense of a crazy contestant wanting revenge, this story is delightful and endearing.

Desired by the Alpha Tiger by Abigail Raines (Goodreads Author), Riley Moreno

This is an okay story about a mediocre town called Shifter Grove. The characters are abrasive and it takes a lot for me to even like them. The only bright light in this story is Lucy and how she brings down the big bad tiger. Otherwise, I felt I kind of wasted my time.

Any Duke Will Do by Meara Platt

This is an amusing and delightful tale of a Duke pulled into a common woman's hopes and dreams. In doing so, he finds out the injustice being done to her and falls in love with this bright and vivacious woman.

Rekindling With The Wild (Werewolves of St. Neuri #4) by Abigail Raines

I've been with this series from the beginning. This is a rather grim tale of St. Neuri after the fog and the billionaire werewolf starts investing in the city. The city is growing but it's also attracting dark forces. I must say that Lily is kind of stupid. She has been warned but she goes ahead and starts a relationship with someone she doesn't know. I also got a bad impression of our hero just coming into the store and demanding that Lily leave St. Neuri. How stupid is he to think that she would listen to him after dumping her years earlier? He just should have started protecting her from the shadows if he was that afraid for her. The way he dumped her was totally wrong and left her unable to move on, especially since they were probably mates that had met early in their teen years. The problem with this story is that I was angry most of the way through it, until the climax. There is no real rebuilding of their relationship in this story. She just accepts him back into her life after she discovers the truth about Ethan.

The Secret Identity of the Lord's Aide by Abigail Agar

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a delightful tale of a bumbling politician and a lady unjustly scorned. It's amazing how Elizabeth rebuilt her life after the scandal that rocked her world. It tells me how much Lord Linfield has recluses himself from the world. He knows that for Lady Elizabeth to be working in a newspaper; it must have been bad. The lessons that Lady Elizabeth gives him while writing his speeches gives him the confidence he needs to become a political figure like his father. England is in need of political change, but can he change to portray that not only to his constituents but to the woman who has captured his heart?

A Second Chance for the Broken Duke: A Clean & Sweet Regency Historical Romance by Fanny Finch

A recluse and a daring woman come together because of his sister's accident. The woman is bright and cheering, including cheering the duke's heart. Can such a woman live in the darkness of the duke's heart or can he overcome his own guilt and live in the light? Fanny Finch scores with this story.

Cat Scratch Fever (Mystic Harbor #3) by Scarlett Grove

Does love make compromises? The answer is yes. This story represents that compromise and shows what each of us is capable of overcoming and giving up for happiness. Although, something should be done with his brother, Ashton. What a danger to the shifter community!
