Shift of Destiny (Ice Age Shifters #2) by Carol Van Natta

This book is unintentionally funny. The descriptions of the folk of Kotoyeesinay are hysterical and the folk are officially crazy. A woman walking around with knowing magic, but doesn't know she has it. She ends up in Kotoyeesinay after being stalked by some psycho CEO. She meets Chance McKennie and sparks fly. I enjoyed reading this story even with the intense climax; every page had something to smile about.

On His Bended Knee: a Sweet Marriage of Convenience series (The Brides of Purple Heart Ranch Book 1) by Shanae Johnson

This is a very sweet story, about a woman with no job and evicted from her apartment for too many dogs. It's about a man who served our country and lost his leg. It's also about a bunch of veterans trying to make a ranch their home. One marriage of convenience to save the ranch, and two people find they have a lot in common. Love heals Maggie and Dylan's soul. Dylan finds with Maggie he can overcome his spiritual injuries.

Ignored & Treasured - The Duke's Bookish Bride (Love's Second Chance 0) by Bree Wolf

This story is enchanting and a simple mistake almost cost the Duke the woman who enchanted him. Thanks to Helen's sister, everything seems to work out. This is a fun story and good for an afternoon read.

HIS HIGHLAND LOVE (His Highland Heart #2) by Willa Blair

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In this story, love will not be denied. After two years separation, Catherine finds Kenneth Brodie a prisoner of the Catholic Church. There is a lot of tension, anger, and passion expressed in this book. Catherine is head strong and a true redhead. Kenneth Brodie tried to keep away from Catherine after being denied by her father, but passion, attraction and one firebrand is hard to resist when you are alone with each other; racing across the highlands avoiding a war torn Scotland. The writing is excellent and the characters are engaging.

Bears of Valor Lake Shifter Romance Box Set by Lisa Daniels

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
These four books are probably best to read together.

Arthur's Mate

This story was interesting, and the author did a good job of informing us of her shifter world without taking away from the story. I was disappointed in the ending, because it took away from the character of Arthur. Emma is a victim of bullying, but Arthur helps her stand up for herself. This makes me believe Emily will grow in character, now that she has taken initiative in her life.

Robin's Mate

She's a hunter that records her trophy by dart hunting. Her latest trophy is Robin Witsel, bear shifter. The romance between these two is good, but the family makes strange requests and Robin justs goes along with it. I guess some people don't care about what their family is into.

Peter's Mate

This one is about the exile bears in Valor lake. Kiara had a one night stand and her daughter is now showing strange medical signs. Kiara just happens to take her to a shifter doctor and knows that her daughter is a shifter. Her daddy shifter turns out to be an exiled bear, but Kiara wants her daughter to know her father, because she doesn't understand the shifter side of her daughter. In this story, we find out more about the other side we keep hearing about in the first two books. This is probably the best story of all four books

Joel's Mate

Teresa is doing a summer job of Ranger Lookout, so she can heal from her boyfriends death. She meets Joel who hates his family, because of what they have done to the exiles. She learns about the shifters and keeps Joel from involving himself in family warfare. Hopefully, this is the last book in the series, because these shifters really don't deserve a happily ever after.

The Lord's Favourite Game by Henrietta Harding

This is a spicy novel that left me a little angry and glad that he got caught in his own game. He deserved it, for being the truly repugnant man that he is. I wish Diana wasn't as naive as she was, because then she could have stomped all over this repugnant man's heart. Yes, I am heartless when it comes to these types of men, because their goal is to hurt and humiliate women for the conquest. This story also fails to tell us what happen to all his illegitimate children.

A Bride For Luke (Sons of Nora White #1) by Cyndi Raye

I must say that Luke is a very cruel man. Although, Luke thinks he is protecting his mother by being mean. It is just going to get him no where, and points the direction of where the problem lays. My solution would have been to treat everyone the same, then nobody would ever know. The story is well written, but it does not reveal certain facts, and makes the reader guess. I'm guessing it will be revealed after all the boys get married. The characters are all well written, and I'm going to love seeing the other boys fall in love. The only character I did not like unfortunately was our hero, Luke. According to the author and his wife, he may have a heart of gold, but until gets rid of all that anger. He is sadly lost.

The Commander's Affair by Madeline St. James

I thought the book was well written, but the story and plot did not sit well me. Also, I know how difficult being a mistress was in those times, but she never should have come back from Wales. The divorce alone it made it dangerous for her, and she would have been spurned wherever she went; even though she never actually had physical relations with the man. As far as I am concerned, Daniel was indiscreet to where his affections lay, and causing undue harm to Charlotte. Daniel just could have dragged his wife through the mud, and been done with the whole business. The author is too soft, because the wife deserved everything she got running off with a common fisherman. Because Daniel is a stupid man, he ended up dragging his heart's affection through the mud with him. Really! What kind of man or gentleman does that!

The Gift of a Christmas Scandal: Regency Romance by Arietta Richmond

One is being forced to marry an Earl who she finds a bore, and the other is being forced by his dead father to marry a grasping neighbor girl. The only way out is a scandal, and must decide if they want to live with each other for the rest of their lives. This story is graphic, but with the what is at stake; it is understandable. I really enjoyed the story, but I didn't feel the chemistry between these two like I should have. There were steamy moments, but they seem to sizzle out very quickly.

The Scandalous Deal of the Scarred Lady: A Historical Regency Romance Novel by Hanna Hamilton

The injustices done to this lady are unbelievable. James, the Duke of Dunham, doesn't see her blemishes, but sees the beauty of the woman underneath. The thing that holds him back is the ruby brooch that Helena is holding between them. The intrigue is exciting and the insanity of one woman stretches to destroy lives when she can no longer control them. It held my attention through the climax and I wanted to finish to see all it all played out.

The Gift by Yvonne Lehman

This is about a school teacher and a woman who moved to the city. She returns for her grandfather's funeral and stays to help a girl named Mary Frances. Daniel and Kate remember how they used to be and the woman that Kate has become. It's about God's grace and plan for our lives.

The Rebellious Bride's Broken Heart: An Inspirational Historical Romance Novel (Colorado Reborn Book 5) by Chloe Carley

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the fifth story in the series. Daisy and Clay were introduced to us in the last book. This story deals with loss and how each of us deals with it. Daisy and Clay love each other, but circumstances and the town mean to separate them. Experience a true miracle, that God really does bring the dead back to life.

Christmastide with His Countess by Ellie St. Clair

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Talk about two dysfunctional people, Scarlett closes her heart off because her father sold her off in marriage to Hunter, a soon to be Earl and a member of the House of Lords, who just accepted his father's decree that he marry this woman. The first day, their marriage is a war and Hunter just leaves for London, because he can't deal with the rejection. Four months later, he is summoned by his estate manager to take care of his wife interference in estate matters. What he comes home to is a wife who is take care of the estate in his absence and celebrating a holiday he never has. Game on!

A Governess in the Duke's Darkness: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Abigail Agar

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Marion is a bright light that needed a little love and she found that in the Duke's children. I was really getting into this story and was relieved when the two servants conspiring against the Duke were discovered. I was let down by the author continuing the story by Marion running away. I felt it took away from the story instead of adding to it.

Mourning Commute (The Funeral Fakers #2) by Sam Cheever

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is another hilarious chronicle from the company, Exit Stage Left. This actress meets hot mourner, Eddie Dietz, who doesn't believe Maybell is Joshua girlfriend. Eddie is a P.I. and asks Maybell to help him find Joshua's killer. Maybell being a cop's daughter has two serious flaws. One is that she is an eavesdropper and the second is she like to promote her ideas.

Her Long Lost Cowboy: A Western Historical Romance by Evelyn Boyett

Rating:  ⭐
I think the idea of the plot was good, but the writing fell apart at the climax. The final showdown was inane and would never happen. The main characters were well written, but the antagonist and his cronies were stereotypical. There are portions of the story that are absolutely boring, which forced me to scan read. I won't do that if the book can hold my attention which this one failed to do.

The Ruthless Billionaire: A Clean Billionaire Romance (California Elite) by Evangeline Kelly

This story is strangely funny. This son of billionaire has to marry someone on his father's list, but he hates everyone on the list. He meets a woman who just lost her job, and offers her a job as a maid in Kauai. The problem is she's not on the list and he falls in love with her. The problem is Aria is a Christian and won't marry someone who doesn't know Jesus. This is a powerful story in that this ruthless man finds love and in turn finds himself and a God who loves him.

Lawfully Protected (The Lawkeepers) by Evangeline Kelly

How these two met is hilarious, and one Officer Bronson Murphy gets a lesson in Christian dating from Allison. This is well-written and a lesson on how do deal with a stalker. I loved this story, and the wonderful characters, especially Allison's neighbor, Mrs. Spellman.

Loving A Lady: A Clean & Sweet Regency Historical Romance Book by Abby Ayles

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I enjoyed this story very much, but I had some issues with the story.  The author initially made the Marquess out as some kind of villain, but ends up he's in love with the wrong sister. I felt a real let down, because we never did find out the Marquess's real motives. Noelle is a genuine lady and a dutiful daughter, but she longs for a marriage of love. Roderick loves Noelle because of who she is and not who her family is. The story is well-written and the relationship between Roderick and Noelle is a wonderful friendship that turns to love.

Murder Feels Crazy (Empath Detective #3) by Bill Alive

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the third book in the series, and Pete has given up on spoilers. After I read this book, I was physically exhausted from being constantly in the head of a twenty-some guy with the mentality of a 16 year old. Pete's mind runs a mile a minute while we help find the heroin traffickers. My biggest problem with Pete is he overlooks the obvious. Although, Pete narrates, I felt the Mark our em-path was almost a side note in this story. Still, the story is funny and light-hearted. Although, this author has strange ideas of romance.

Prairie Storm (Cowboys of the Flint Hills #4) by Tessa Layne

This is one hot novel, and emotionally charged, along with a natural disaster. Axel is given a second chance when Haley Cooper comes sailing in from CPARC on her TREX; a car designed to chase tornadoes. This is one couple that is meant to be together, only they don't know what compromise is all about.

Melody's Christmas (Heartwarming Holidays Sweet Romance Book 1) by Id Johnson, Lauren Yearsley Morgan

Two years after the death of her father, Melody has a hard time dealing with Christmas music. She meets a little boy named Michael and his father, Reid. Michael heals her heart and Reid helps her find the music again. This is wonderful tale of healing and love, and the magic of children.

A Bluestocking for the Wicked Duke: A Historical Regency Romance Book by Henrietta Harding

Unfortunately, this is a sort of Romeo and Juliet. The Wicked Duke is the father of Juliet, our Lady Joane. The Bluestocking is actually Emma, Lady Joane's friend. William, the son of another Duke, is our Romeo. The Wicked Duke is evil and plans to dispose of the only heir of the other Duke. William decided to take revenge on the Wicked Duke by way of his daughter, only he falls in love with her. The story is not as compelling as it should be and sometimes I got bored with the writing, especially when Lord James affair with Emily is added into the mix. It sometimes took away from the story.

Just One Weekend: A Billionaire Romance (The Ironwood Billionaire Series Book 5) by Ellie Danes

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐
What a dangerous thing to do! And when everyone around her recognizes the billionaire, she still doesn't believe him! The story was fun, but unbelievable and a whole lot of stupid over a teenage boy who are a whole of stupid!

The Dangers of Love: Mail Order Bride (Marrying a Marshal Book 2) by Natalie Dean

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is strange, but well-written story. What is strange is this German woman who comes to America is being abused by her sponsor, but in the end she is not so accommodating of the abuse. Of course, it probably helps that she meets a handsome Marshal on the train traveling to Dry Gulch. Greta is a willful woman and even though she doesn't know how to survive, she decides that living with an abusive man is not going to happen. Greta is very likeable and Simon is going to have his hands full.

The Viscount's Rose (Farthingale #5) by Meara Platt

I loved this story. There is intrigue, romance and a little spice. Apparently, the Farthingale women are beautiful and Rose is no exception. This story has it all, an evil countess and her minions, spies, treason, and murder, crazy family members and our own Bond, Viscount Julian Emory. This story is fun filled and action-packed with our own naive and eccentric Rose Farthingale.

The famous billionaire by Katie Quinn

This is set in Amish Country for an actor to spend two weeks method acting for a movie. What he gets is a woman who is a pariah in her own community and how she deals with the pain. He loses his arrogance after he meets Hannah. A woman who takes care of her four siblings alone because the community has shunned her. This story is well-written and takes in the life of the Amish. This book is not favorable towards some of the Amish ways, and shows how shunning someone is not following God's path for us.

Arthur's Mate (Bears of Valor Lake Book 1) by Lisa Daniels

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story was interesting, and the author did a good job of informing us of her shifter world without taking away from the story. I was disappointed in the ending, because it took away from the character of Arthur. Emma is a victim of bullying, but Arthur helps her stand up for herself. This makes me believe Emily will grow in character, now that she has taken initiative in her life.

Marrying a Country Star (Marrying Nashiville Book 1) by Emma Evans

Rating:  ⭐⭐
This story says something that I always suspected about shows like the Bachelor. The shows are scripted until the unexpected happens. What happens between Cassandra and Jonathan, doesn't happen in real life and if it does it's because the girl is just plain naive. The story is harsh at parts, but then Cassandra finally gets a dose of reality. I find Jonathan a fake character from the start, and never liked him. It's hard to like someone that arrogant and so willing to do something so wrong as to fix the show as to who the winner is.

To Trust a Bear (Lumberjack Bears Book 3) by Emilia Hartley

I'm really liking this series. The author is building her shifter world with a lot of substance. I'm finally beginning to see what these shifters have had to go through and why they are the way they are. We understand now why Morgan is the always the laid back bear because he has always been mated to Emma, even when Emma gave him his walking papers. Emma is kind of brainwashed by her father, but being away from the den opens Emma's eyes to the truth. These stories are well written with a few flaws, but overall the story is very good.

Christmas Wishes & Heartwarming Kisses: A Sweet Holiday Romance Collection by Sophie Mays

I've read one of these stories before by Sophie Mays.

From New York, With Love

This quaint romance will feel your heart with love, family and the Christmas spirit. If you are feeling a little blue, this book will lift your spirits and bring a smile to your heart.

The rest of the stories are just as wonderful and delightful for your holiday season.

Seduced Under the Mistletoe by Emmanuelle de Maupassant (Goodreads Author), Ashe Barker (Goodreads Author) , Amy Rose Bennett (Goodreads Author) , Ellie St. Clair (Goodreads Author) , Nicola Davidson (Goodreads Author) , Carole Mortimer (Goodreads Author) , Stacy Reid (Goodreads Author) , Scarlett Scott (Goodreads Author) , Lauren Smith, Emily Murdoch (Goodreads Author), Vanessa Brooks, Gracie Malling (Goodreads Author), Jaye Peaches (Goodreads Author), Em Brown (Goodreads Author), Viola Morne (Goodreads Author), Brandy Golden

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I only ARC'd for one of these books, "Peril with a Prince" by Emily Murdoch. This is a great short story with a kind of twist at the end. It is set during the Revolutionary War in France and is typical with spies. You'll love Gizelle and the Prince.

Matchmaker (Santa Clarita Love Stories #2) by Evangeline Kelly

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This story is about a guy who likes someone and pretends to match her up while denying the feelings that he actually has for her. It's funny and witty and everyone calls him on his stupidity. Unfortunately, I like men who are self aware of who they are.

The Billionaire's Fake Wife (A Fake Marriage Romance) by Hanna Hart

This is the typical playboy with no direction in his life. He can't make decision and as far as I am concerned he is useless. The fact that his parents set him up with his ex-girlfriend as his fake wife is crazy, but Richard agrees. Willow agrees to get the story about the corrupt President. The original sparks fly during their honeymoon. The banter and remembrances between these two is well written and sometimes funny.  The love they had is still there.

Mourning Routine: A Good Clean Fun Cozy Mystery (The Funeral Fakers Book 1) by S.E. Babin

Rating:  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Who knew there are actual paying jobs for actresses in the funeral business? This is a fun story with an inept actress trying to solve a mystery. The humor in this one is the ever present Sean who was the destruction of Kitty's career in Hollywood.
