Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I like the books. I've reviewed Highland Savior, Highlan
Highlander's Savior
I must say that the characters are well-developed and an excellent plot.
What I have to say about Drew's javelin injury healing in two days is
ridiculous unless he's a paranormal. Although campaign's could last for
month's, once the fighting started, it was over pretty quickly. Four
days, before they confront the commander of the army is rather sad for
the Scottish Highlander. Although Blair and Drew convince Rosemary and
Sarah to go to the Highlands, they were nothing more than English prizes
and reminders of a how they won the battle against Lord Flynn.
Highlander's Captive
Declan is young and impetuous. It's his failing. Catherine will escape
because of him. To prove to his clan, he is not a failure; he runs after
her to bring her back. The only thing that is going to save Declan is
the fact that Catherine loves him. This story is powerful and tells us
foibles of being impetuous. Declan, I like him, but I wanted to smack
him for his foolishness. Catherine, I understood not wanting to be a
captive. Her problem was naivety of the situation and her father's
grievance again the Scottish. It's a story worth reading about the
sensitivities of war.
Highlander's Revenge
I loved this story. Alastair seems a bit crazed when we meet him in Highlander's Captive, but we get a sense of who he actually is and what he may become. It is Rebecca that he seems to be himself with and Rebecca who helps him realize who he is. The war that is coming will either be realize or maybe it can be diverted, if he takes up his father's mantle. There is lots of action, but it the depth of hurt and betrayal along with all his years in captivity that makes this story very riveting. I think what will Alastair do or how is he going to react? I think the author was kinder to Alastair than I would have been, but she kept to the core of his character no matter hard that had to be.
