Sinful Tales of Untamed Lords: A Historical Regency Romance Collection by Lucy Langton

This collection contains 6 books, and I have done a review for each book. Some are good, some are bad, most are just okay.

Risking It All for the Sinful Earl

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

This story starts out horribly which is full of selfish pride and blackmail. This story could have turned out a lot better if the Duke just courted her. Men like this have to use their power to manipulate people to do their will. After forcing her into marrying him, he can't even make love to her due to the guilt of the way he forced her to marry him. The writing becomes stilted at times, and the dialog lacks especially in some of the most important moments like the author wasn't sure how to proceed in the situation. The only thing well done was the physical chemistry between our heroine and villain.

Forbidden Passion of a Governess

Rating: ⭐⭐

This story has a very good plot, but the writing tends to drone on in places. The forbidden passion of the governess and the earl is continuously drummed throughout the book where I started to get a headache from it. Personally, you couldn't get me near the earl with his cold demanding arrogance. Emilia is wonderfully warm, but very much subservient in her ways. I guess that is why she falls in love the with earl and his dominance. I would have left him curled up in a ball in the garden, if he had done that to me at the ball. I've read better governess and the lord stories.

A Secret Deal with the Devilish Baron
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a wonderful tale of intrigue and romance. The only problem with this tale is that it steps completely outside the bound of a Regency. This is probably why the author sets the story in the countryside. Baron and Isabel are wonderful characters and provide the reasons why gambling and drinking are horrible habits for men of means to have. Her brother George is young, naive and too proud. Isabel is stubborn, temperamental and too wild for a young woman. The Baron is a drunk, tortured man, trying to bury the past by trying to make everyone else miserable. And the villain of the piece is a serial killer poisoner. The victim of all this is the Baron's sister who locks herself in her rooms. Each character is compelling and has their own story to tell. Hopefully, love conquers what mere mortals cannot.

The Scandalous Life of a Betrayed Heiress
Rating: ⭐
The plot in of itself is immoral and the story could have flowed better. The outrageous treason charges was the only way the author could have thought of a way out of the marriage. The Prince Regent would have taken all of Clumber's land back to the crown. Everyone of marriage and blood would have been stripped of everything. The author was too generous, and Philip and Sophia should have been on the next ship to America

Romancing an Alluring Lady
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This story a is typical rake and the good girl. The dialog is engaging and the chemistry is strong between these two characters. It helps that they were childhood friends. Hugh learns why he does the things he does and Katherine starts to see the person that she loved as a child. This story has a great villain and Hugh sometimes is his own worst enemy. There are some stale lines used, but on the whole. The story is charming.

Enticing the Fiery Lady

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

The characters are wonderful and Evelynn's parents are over the top. Especially, after Evelynn bets with Robert at a game of cards. Now the whole ton is saying that she sold her body for a dance. Now that rumor is also well over the top. The only true secret if it gets out will destroy both Robert's family and their relationship. The story is shaky and the plot not well thought out. The dialog between the main characters is good along with the chemistry between the two. Unfortunately, the story falls apart in the climax of the story, and the author tries to write herself out of a hole during the epilogue.
