It seems everyone is unhappy in this story. Carrie is unhappy moving to Texas with her father after the death of her mother. Her father tries to destroy his daughter's happiness with lies and deceit. Her uncle is unhappy because he had a fallout with his brother. Finley is unhappy because his mother was accused of stealing. Basically, all this unhappiness is the result of Carrie's father grief and greed. Finley and Carrie realize they have to escape to get to the truth and find out if they can marry. When Carrie goes to see her uncle, the truth about her father is given. This story is about Carrie finding her way to the love she has for Finlay, and being strong in the face of doubt and deceit. It's a good read, but I think the characters needed more work.
