This story starts out well but convoluted along the way. Then there is the moral dilemma of lying in the face of danger. Aurelia learns that lying can be good during wartime, but wartime is evil in itself. Peter it seems is a good liar, because he has been covering for the Klonimus brother for years. The build up to the climax is exciting, but ending of the climax was a complete letdown. I haven't read the whole series and all the complex relationships from previous books that are in this book are not helpful to making this story a stand-a-alone.
