This is a sweet short story about an reticent Earl who visits his friend's home for Christmas and meets his sister whom he has been writing to while Marcus was sick. Although, he is reticent and a bit ruff around the edges, because his estates are in backwater England, Ellen finds that he is kind. This story is not some grand passion, but it is sweet, and finding love over the Christmas season is the best present of all.
