Even in the most demure of women, there is a little wickedness. I love these books, but I think these heroines have more issues than is warranted. Claire's is do not marry someone who will cheat on her. Question here is, how do you know who will cheat and who will not? Love is a leap of faith, and Nicolas made that leap of faith, but Claire is still stuck at the starting gate. The writing is excellent as always, but the ending was a little more than a debutante would dare.
