I liked Magdalena, but the more forceful Lance got the more submissive Magdalena became. As far as I know, if Magdalena was a true suffragist, she would have torn Lance Holloway's ego apart. I found her more of a spoiled brat, trying to get away with anything her father would let her, until her father said, "Enough!" Lance is a coward not to ask her about her ultimatum from her father and leaves her standing high and dry. It is only after he almost loses her, that he remembers that he is in love with her. Dr. Holloway get over yourself if you want to live a happy life!
