The Scandal of the Deceived Duchess: A Historical Regency Romance Novel by Hanna Hamilton

This story is held during the War of 1812. When England was raiding American Frigates and forcing enlistment into their Navy. Amelia is captured by an American sea captain when she is sent to Canada to be forced to marry a man she hates. What follows after confuses me, because Amelia fights against her captor and eventually he allows her to return to Canada. Author makes Prinny out to be a fat squealing  pig who enjoys making merry over others injuries. He gives an American titled land while he is fighting a war against his own country. Prinny was many things in his time and selfish, over indulgent and fat were among those things, but stupid was not it. I loved the character Jonathan, but I had a very hard time even liking Amelia. I just wanted to slap her silly of her blind stupidity.
