The story and plot are excellent. It's emotionally gripping and sometimes painful to read. The truth in all of this is that Alexandra loved him, not because he wasn't a a baron. It was because he saw her and knew her. The pain of his betrayal literally tore her heart out. Nicolas went into this to save his friends in the East End. He never thought he would fall in love. We find regret has a way of keeping us from asking for forgiveness. When Nicolas's enemies find out he is married, they go after Alexandra. Alexandra is an extraordinary women with the heart of a lion. Nicolas's enemies are going to find out how extraordinary Alexandra is. With Nicolas beside her, she'll be unstoppable.
