This story addresses issues of stress in our lives that affect our decisions. His love for his family makes him think he has to handle the world on his own. When all along, he's had a complete family backing him up. The return of Shady Tree was no surprise, but I think his attempt was weak. The action is good and suspenseful, and it is in keeping with the later Harry Starke novels. I must say though, I miss the mystery of the first set of Harry Starke novels.
