This the first book I've read in this series. It is on the last leg of the Oregon trail. The descriptions of the what these settlers had to endure. The bits of information at the beginning of each chapter set you for what was to come on the trail. The decisions these four made at the end of the trail will surprise you. While I read this book, I felt like I was on the Oregon trail. Although, at points the book can become quite dry. I'm sure there are moments of boredom even for these settlers.
