Saved by the Scoundrel (Smithfield Market Regency Romance #1) by Rose Pearson
This story is based on a series of missteps and second chances. What happens to Caroline are based on peer pressure and her brother trying to marry her off to his commander. None of this is mentioned in the book, but it is suggested by Peter's actions. Lord Brandeis is the worst sort of scoundrel, but the title suggest that he saved Caroline. This is a falsehood, because Caroline saves Brandeis from the scoundrel's life. Although, this story is well-written and the characters are emotionally developed, this story crosses Regency ton rules, and things Brandeis parents would never allow.
